Abstract

A waste tool includes a handle A fixed to a shaft B, which is fixed to a locating disc C which has two locating prongs D attached. In use, the tool is inserted in to the top of a waste fitting to prevent it from turning while a backnut is tightened (see fig 5/5).

Description

Description:
The tool enables the plumbing of a waste to its companion sanitayware item to be ftted more easily.
As a Plumber the difficulties faced when installing basins, baths, and kitchen sink wastes can result in incorrect fitting and possible leaks. The problem arises when trying to hold and stop a waste moving or turning whilst trying to tighten a backnut into position and, insure it has tigltend adequately to create a water-tight seal.
The 'spanner' is inserted in to the top of the waste where it is located and held, preventing the turning of the waste fitting, therefore enabling the backut to be tightened with ease.
The simple feature of the product are (as indicated on drawing 1 /5) : À The handle (item A) - sited on top of a small shaft (item B) to give easy reach and clearance of the waste.
À The locating disc (item C) and prongs (item D) are located on the opposite end of the shaft to the handle.
The Drawings Drawing 1 / 5 Shows the side elevation of the tool, indicating the relevant parts Drawing 2 / 5 The bottom view of the tool Drawing 3 /5 Showing a view of the tool from above Drawing 4/ 5 3 dimensional view of the tool Drawing 5 / 5 Performance drawing of the tool located in a basin She tool is held by the handle (A - drawing 1/5), and using the locating prongs (1) - drawing 1/5) and the locating disc (Cdrawing 1/5). It is located and pushed in to a basin / bath or sink waste prior to tightening (drawing 5/5). It is held in place whilst the backnut of the waste is tightened to create a firm, water-tight seal (see picture 5/5).
The spanner, whilst being held, prevents the waste spinning or rotating whilst tightening the backnut. Once the backnut has been sufficiently tightened the spanner is removed.
The spanner can be re-used on every installation.
