Abstract

A paint brush holder comprises a generally wedge shaped container 1 having means 4 for clipping to rim of a paint can and a base tray 2 which is detachable for cleaning. The holder is stabilised by an external bumper 3, has bumpers 5 for removing excess paint from a brush and has a grid 6 above the tray 2 through which paint may drain.

Description

DESCRIPTION
THIS INVENTION RELATES TO A PAINT BRUSH HOLSTER. THE PAINT BRUSH
HOLSTER IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE A SAFE AND DRIP FREE RESTING PLACE FOR
THE IN-USE BRUSH WHILST IN BETWEEN PAINTING AND A HANDS FREE CLIMB
UP LADDERS.
THE INVENTION CAME ABOUT BY NUMEROUS ACCIDENTS WHERE THE BRUSH
WOULD FALL CONSTANTLY ON CARPETS OFF LADDERS AND IN THE PAINT CAN
ITSELF.
A SPECIFIC EM BODIMENT OF THE INVENTION WILL NOW BE DESCRIBED BY WAY
OF EXAMPLE WITH REFERENCE TO THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWING IN WHICH: FIG 1. SHOWS IN PERSPECTIVE THE HOLSTER IN A UP-RIGHT POSITION FIG 2. ILLUSTRATES AN INTERNAL VIEW OF HOW THE EXCCESS PAINT IS DRAINED THROUGH HOLES INTO THE DETATCHABLE TRAY.

TRAY AND FRONT BUMPER
THE PAINTBRUSH HOLSTERCOMPRISES OF A WEDGE SHAPED DURABLE PLASTIC
CONTAINER WHICH lS DESIGNED TO CLIP (FIG 1.4) ONTO A PAINT CAN BY MEANS OF A CLASP. THE PAINT BRUSH RESTS INSIDE THE HOLSTER (FIG 1.1) WHERE ANY EXCCESS PAINT CAN DRAIN THROUGH HOLES (FIG 2.6) AT THE BASE INTO A DETATCHABLE TRAY (FIG 1.2) THE TRAY IS RELEASED BY APPLYING PRESSURE TO BOTH SIDES (FIG 2.7) TO ENABLE THE USER TO CLEAN IT. INTERIOR B UMPERS (FIG 1.5) ARE DESIGNED TO DRAG ANY SURPLUS PAINT OFF THE BRUSH WHEN RETRIEVING IT. AN EXTERIOR BUMPER ADDS STABILITY TO THE HOLSTER (FIG 1.3).
THE CLAIMS
1. THE PAINT BRUSH HOLSTER INCLUDES A WEDGE SHAPED DESIGN WHICH
CLASPS ONTO THE RIM OF A PAINT CAN AND HAS A DETATCHABLE TRAY
AT THE BASE FOR REMOVAL TO CLEAN.
2. THE P.B. HOLSTER AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 WHICH HAS INTERIOR
BUMPERS TO DRAG EXCESS PAINT FROM THE BRUSH IN A SINGLE ROW ON
THE BACK INTERIOR WALL.
3. THE P.B. HOLSTER AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 AND CLAIM 2 WHICH HAS A HOLED GRID AT THE BASE TO ALLOW PAINT TO DRIP THROUGH.
4. THE P.B. HOLSTER AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 2 AND CLAIM 3 WHICH HAS A
RELEASE MECHANISM TO BOTH SIDES TO ALLOW REMOVAL OF THE
DETAC1-IABLE TRAY.
5. THE P. B. HOLSTER AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 4 WHICH HAS A EXTERIOR BUMPER TO THE BOTTOM FRONT WALL TO ALLOW EXTRA STABILITY.
6. A P.B. HOLSTER AS CLAIMED IN ANY PROCEEDING CLAIM WHICH IS MADE EXCLUSIVELY TO HOUSE A PAINT BRUSH.
7. A P.B. HOLSTER AS CLAIMED IN ANY PROCEEDING CLAIM WHICH IS MADE FROM METAL, PLASTICS MATERIAL OR WOOD, OR FROM ANY COMBINATION.
8. A P.B. HOLSTER SUBSTANTIALLY AS HEREIN DESCRIBED AND ILLUSTRATED IN THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS.

  1. Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows
    I. A PAINT BRUSH HOLDER COMPRISING A GENERALLY WEDGE-SHAPED
    CONTAINER HAVING MEANS FOR CLIPPING TO THE RIM OF A PAINT CAN AND
    INCLUDING A DRIP TRAY FORMING A BASE WHICH CAN BE REMOVED FOR CLEANING.
  2. 2. THE PAINT BRUSH HOLDER AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM I. WHICH HAS INTERIOR TEAR
    DROP BUMPERS TO DRAG EXCESS PAINT FROM THE BRUSH PLACED ON THE TOP HALF
    OF THE BACK INSIDE WALL.
  3. 3. TEIE PATNT BRUSH HOLDER AS CLAIMED TN CLAIM I. WHICH HAS A MEMBER
    HAVING HOLES DEFINING A GRID ABOVE THE BASE TO ALLOW PAINT TO DRIP
    THROUGH.
  4. 4. THE PAINT BRUSH HOLDER AS CLAIMED TN CLAIM 2. AND CLAIMS. WHICH HAS A
    RELEASE MECHANISM TO BOTH SIDES TO ALLOW REMOVAL OF TO IE DETACHABLE
    DRIP TRAY.
  5. 5. TElE PAINT BRUSH HOLDER AS CLAIMED TN CLAIM 4. WHICH HAS AN EXTERIOR
    HALF-MOON SHAPED BUMPER ATTACHED TO THE HIGHEST PART OF THE FRONT
    WALL TO THE DETACHABLE DRIP TRAY.
  6. 6. A PATNT BRUSH HOLDER AS CLAIMED TN ANY PRECEDING CLAIM WIIICH IS MADE EXCLUSIVELY TO HOUSE A PATNT BRUSH.
