Abstract
A clip (16) comprises a saddle (17) of square or inverted 'U'-shape provided at a central part of the clip. The saddle (17) has integral support arms (18) extending from opposite sides of the saddle (17), and each support arm (18) at a terminal end distal from the saddle being provided with a semicircular recess or channel (19) to receive a portion of central heating, or other, circular section pipe.

Title of the Invention
Flooring clip
Field of the Invention
This invention relates to a flooring clip for purposes of supporting central heating or other piping beneath a floor of a dwelling, eg from a joist.
Object of the Invention A basic object of the present invention is the provision of an improved flooring clip.
Summary of the Invention
According to the invention, there is provided a flooring clip comprising: (i) a saddle of square or inverted 'U'-shape provided at a central part of the clip; (ii) integral support arms extending from opposite sides of the saddle; and (iii) each support arm at a terminal end distal from the saddle being provided with a semicircular recess or channel to receive a portion of central heating, or other, circular section pipe.
In use, the clips are simply push-fitted onto the (usually clad) upper edges of joists, at suitably spaced-apart locations eg every 2 ft or 3 ft (0.6m or 1 m) along the joists, to provide adequate pipe support. The clips are then ready to receive the pipework, after which panels forming the flooring are fitted, preferably with edges of a thermal insulation membrane turned upwardly to be secured behind subsequently fitted skirting of a dwelling.
Preferred or Optional Feature of the Invention The clip is produced in a synthetic plastics material.

One embodiment of clip in accordance with the invention is shown by way of example only, in the accompanying drawing, which is a perspective view of a clip.
Detailed Description of the Drawing
A clip 16, comprises a central saddle 17 of inverted square 'U'-shape and of width such that the saddle will clip onto an upper edge of industrystandard joists, possibly after cladding the upper edge with a thermally insulating membrane (not shown). A plurality of clips 16 are fitted at suitably spaced locations along each joist.
A pair of support arms 18 project from opposite sides of the saddle 17 of each clip 16, each support arm 18 provided at a terminal end distal from the saddle 17 with a semicircular recess 19 adapted to support a portion of a circular section central heating pipe. After fitting the pipe, the flooring 1 would be completed by the fitting of floorboards and skirting.

Claims (3)
1. A clip comprising a saddle of square or inverted 'U'-shape provided at a central part of the clip; integral support arms extending from opposite sides of the saddle; and each support arm at a terminal end distal from the saddle being provided with a semicircular recess or channel to receive a portion of central heating, or other, circular section pipe.
2. A clip as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the clip is produced in a synthetic plastics 1 0 material.

A clip comprising a saddle of inverted square "U"-shape comprising a base and a pair of parallel, spaced-apart side arms provided at a central part of the clip; integral support arms extending orthogonally from opposite sides of terminal ends of the side arms; and each support arm at a terminal end distal from the saddle being provided with a semicircular recess to receive a portion of central heating, or other, circular section pipe.
2. A clip as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the clip is produced in a synthetic plastics material.
