Abstract
A variable speed baby bottle washer comprises a base unit 1 in which there is sealed a 240 volt drive motor, and a upper, washing unit 2 comprising an open-topped container which is attachable to the base unit via mating twist locking formations on the base and upper units, the upper unit being provided with a rotatable cylindrical shaped brush 5, such that when the upper unit is mounted on the base unit the brush is connected with the drive motor, there also being provided a control button 6 on the base unit for imparting variable speed rotation to the brush.

BABY BOTTLE WASHER
This invention relates to a Baby Bottle Washer.
Baby bottle cleaning devices are well known in the form of a brush with bristles and a handle. Each bottle brush performs exactly the same function with the correct usage by the person performing the cleaning act. Washing baby bottles by these means is very time consuming and boring and can often be difficult for people suffering from arthritis or similar disabilities and adding to the disadvantage of constantly immersing hands in very hot water.
According to present invention there is provided a 240volt variable speed Baby Bottle Washer comprising of a small electric motor in a sealed base unit, a fixed bristled brush in the top unit which when fitted together by means of a twisting action lock both the top and base into one unit. Hence providing an ideal easy to use cylindrically shaped unit for the purpose of cleaning baby bottles when the control button is depressed by the user which allows the brush to rotate in the top half of the unit at variable speeds.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 shows the complete unit highlighting the control button, the base(motor housing) top unit(clear shield) and the bottle cleaning brush.
Figure 2 illustrates a side view of the unit.
The design of the Baby Bottle Washer calls for a cylindrically shaped base 1 equipped with interior electrical components (such as a simple mechanical motor) made of durable plastic material such as ABS. ABS (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene) is a type of plastic that might be considered the plastic of choice for Baby Bottle Washer. ABS is characterized by its high rigidity and impact strength, excellent abrasion and moisture resistance as well as resistance to most household chemicals. A clear detachable (for cleaning purposes as no electrical components would be in this section of the unit) cylindrically shaped piece would be attached to the top of the base 2 this piece would be the same size as the base but would be equipped with an open top portion 3 this piece would also encase the cleaning instrument of the Baby Bottle Washer 4. The cleaning instrument consists of a cylindrically shaped brush, measuring several Inches In length attached to a pole, approximately two inches long 5. The brush 5 would most likely be equipped with nylon bristles similar to those currently being used in the production of bottle washers. The base of the brush would be directly connected to the top half of the unit and when both parts were connected together the interior electrical component would function in such a manner as to cause the brush to rotate when activated.
The rate at which the brush will rotate would be determined by the user. Variable speeds would be available depending on how much the user presses the control button 6. A small button 6 on the exterior side of Baby Bottle Washer would activate the two hundred forty
volt motor. An electrical cord 7 would extend out from the base of the unit. The end of the electrical cord 7 would be equipped with a small three pronged plug. This feature would provide the electricity necessary for the unit to function. Baby Bottle Washer would be approximately thirty centimetres in length and have a diameter of ten centimetres. To use Baby Bottle Washer one would simply plug in the cord and insert a baby bottle over the brush. The user would then put the correct amount of warm water in the top unit select the desired speed by pressing the control button. The brush would then rotate inside the bottle, cleaning off milk residue in the process.
Claims (1)
- CLAIMS 31. A 240volt variable speed Baby Bottle Washer comprising of a motor in a sealed base unit, a fixed bristled brush in the top unit which when fitted together by means of a twisting action lock both the top and the base into one unit hence providing an ideal easy to use cylindrically shaped unit for the purpose of cleaning baby bottles. The process of which is controlled by depressing the control button.
