Abstract
A container comprising a base and side walls which is manufactured with a DWI approved coating on its inner surface. The container may be made from a number of flanged modular parts and preferably the DWI approved coating is applied to the parts prior to them being assembled on site. Alternatively, the container may be of moulded unitary construction. A second invention comprises a container having a material (Y, Figures 8 and 9) applied to any bolts, nuts, washers etc to provide an effective seal. A third invention comprises a container having a roof or lid support of L, T or I cross-section.
Description
SPECIFICATION
Improvements In or Relating to Containers The invention relates to containers.
According to the invention there is provided 5 a potable water container comprising a base, G.R.P.
side and end panels secured to the base or side panels secured to base panels, or a number of side panels moulded to the base to create two sides and two ends together with a lid, or a circular container with 10 two ends or a lid and base, produced from plastic or resins, reinforced, typically with glass, carbon or other fibres, with additional benefits of preserving the quality and future integrity of the water contents.
The additional benefits to include one or more of the 15 Following: A/ A D.W. I. (Drinking Water Inspectorate) or equal to D.W.I. approval body within Great Britain, approved, mixed but uncured material, (Z on the accompanying drawings) moulded or applied to the potable water 20 contact faces of the container, at or adjacent to the container manufacturers or approved material installers premises, prior to delivery to the installation site.
B/ A material (Y on the accompanying drawings) suitably applied to any bolt, nut, washer, stay rod thread, to 25 effectively seal any bolt head or thread to the nut or washer, or washer to the container surface to eliminate or reduce to the minimum any small cavity or area which would be difficult to keep clean and sterilise in an assembled container.
30 C/ Roof or lid supports which are installed and have all surfaces of the support easily available and accessible for physical cleaning. A typical roof or lid support would be L, T. or I I shaped through the section and capable of supporting any internal stay rods. These supports (W 35 on the accompanying drawings) could also replace existing roof supports such as vertical tubes which cannot be physically cleaned intemally.
By way of example embodiments of a container according to the invention will now be described with reference to the 40 accompanying drawings inwhich: Figure 1 is a perspective view of a container with external flanges.
Figure 2 is a perspective view of a container with internal flanges to the majority of side and 45 end panels.
Figure 3 is a perspective view of a container with all flanges protruding into the container without the lid attached. Figure 4 is a perspective view of a container with all side panel 50 flanges outside the container showing a cut away section.
Figure 5 is a cross sectional view along the line 1 -1 of any side or end wall in Figure 1 with a mixed uncured DWI approved material Z applied onto or moulded into the drinking water contact face of the container and cured 55 prior to delivery to the installation site.
Figure 6 is a cross sectional view along the line 11 - 11 of any side wall, end wall or base section in Figure 2 which has approved material Z referred to in lines 16 to 22 of the specification attached and cured to the
60 drinking water contact face prior to delivery and site erection. Figure 7 is a cross sectional view along the line 111 - 111 of the wall and base unit in Figure 3 with approved material Z (lines 16 to 22) applied prior to the inside water contact 65 face prior to delivery and assembly on site.
Figure 8 is a fragmentary view of V - V of figure 2 or 3 with the additional benefit of cavity, thread or joint seals Y referred to In B (lines 23 to 29).
Figure 9 Is a fragmentary sectional view on line X - X of 70 figure 4 showing internal stays with seals Y referred to in B (lines 23 - 29) added to threads to nuts, nuts to washers, washers to container internal face or roof supports, with the additional benefit of roof supports W referred to In C (lines 30 to 37)
Claims (9)
