Abstract

A securable hanging basket comprises a basket 5 fitted with a centrally arranged vertical support bar 4. The end of the support bar which is remote from to the basket, is fitted with a horizontally opening securing ring 2. The ring is used as a releasable fastening connecting the basket to a permanently mounted wall bracket 1. The securing ring may be closed and locked with a standard locking device such as a padlock.

ANT1-THEFl HANGING BASKET This invention relates to an anti-theft hanging basket Hanging baskets are well known and widely used for the presentation of flowers and are generally fixed to either walls and soffits of buildings via a simple hanging devise.
Hanging baskets however are easily removed from their hangers in their current form resulting in complete loss of the basket by the owner.
According to the present invention there is a means by which the hanging basket can be secured to either a wall or a soft of a building leaving the basket more resilient to theft; whilst allowing easy removal for replanting and storage when out of season.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Fig 1 shows in perspective view the hanging basket secured to demountable hanging devise.
1. Shows the captive ring which is permanently secured to the wall or soffit 2. Illustrates the horizontal opening securing ring in a closed position, secured by a locking devise 3. illustrates the position of the locking devise 4. Identifies the solid suspension bar 5. Shows the hanging basket Referring to the drawing, the basket 5 is secured to a suspension bar 4 at the base of the basket, which is in turn permanently fixed to the horizontal opening locking devise 2 secured by way of a proprietary locking devise 3 in a closed position. The horizontal opening device 2 is then secured to the in-situ mounting bracket permanently fixed to the building as required.

Claims (4)

1. An anti-theft hanging basket comprising of a vertical suspension bar permanently secured to an horizontal sliding locking device, which can then be fixed to the in-situ mounting bracket which is permanently secured to a building.
2. An anti-theft hanging basket as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the vertical suspension bar is
permanently fixed to the base of the basket to provide hanging support.
3. An anti-theft hanging basket as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2, wherein the horizontal opening locking devise remains permanently secured to the vertical suspension bar.
4. An anti-theft hanging basket as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim2 or Claim 3, where the horizontal opening locking device can be secured to a permanently secured mounting bracket.
