Abstract

A weather shield 13 is a water proof cover suitable for a rotary clothes dryer or airer in order to keep clothes dry. A folding flap 16 is provided on at least one side so that the cover can operate when the rotary drier is opened or retracted. Six hooks or clips 15 can be positioned evenly around the edge of weather shield and they can be fastened to the washing line and support arms. Weather shield 13 can be secured to pole 10 with caps 11 and 12 which grip the cover between them. Pole 10 can then be inserted into the centre pole of the airer (20, Fig 6). Pole 19 with a hook may be used for opening or retracting the clothes dryer by hooking on to D ring 18 in cap 12 and tie 17 can be provided to tie up the weather shield.

WEATHER SHIELD
This invention relates to a water- proof weather shield to protect clothes from the rain when hanging out to dry.
Rotary adorers are well known, see figure 6 for drying wet clothes which are placed and pegged to the line. Rotary airers comprise of a pole 20 which normally are fixed into the ground with a ground spike. Three or four arm supports 2] slide up pole 20 and are fixed into place. clothes line is then threaded through arm supports 21 leaving gaps as the line is threaded from top to bottom of support arms 2 l.
Wet clothes can be pegged out on the line to dry.
However rotary alters are normally left idol and not used when the weather is wet outside, ie raining. The rotary airer can be folded down when not in use with a protective cover over it fig,,ure 5.
According to the present invention there is a weather shield figure 1.13 is fixed to pole 10 with fixing caps 11 and 12, pole 10 is then placed inside centre pole of the rotary airer figure 6:20. Fixings figure 1:15 keep the weather shield secure and in shape when attached to rotary airer arm supports. Folding flap 16 folds down to give protection from the rain coming from an angle. A tie] 7 to keep weather shield tidy when not in use. A pole with a hook l 9 to locate D ring l 8 a helpful aid for ascending and descending weather shield pole.
FIGURE I shows in perspective the weather shield and the parts needed.
FIGURE weather shield in closed position covering rotary airer when not in use.
FIGURE 3 weather shield has been lifted up so rotary adorer can be opened.
FIGURE 4 weather shield in fully open position.
FIGURE 5 rotary airer in folded down position weather with protective cover over it.
FIGURE 6 rotary airer in the open position ready for use.
Referring to the drawing figure 1 the weather shield comprises of a smooth pole to which can slide up and down inside centre pole of rotary airer figure 6:20 with a smooth tight fit. Weather shield figure 1:13 needs to be water proof. Weather shield 13 has a folding flap 16 at least on one side. Weather shield 13 needs to be made the same size and shape to cover top of rotary airer that you will fix it to, clips 15 are fixed to the ends of fabric weather shield 13.
caps l I can be fixed into top of pole figure 1:10 with a tight fit.
Weather shield t3 can be placed over cap 11, cap 12 can now be pushed together with cap 11 to secure weather shield to pole 10. Securing bolt 14 is needed to keep figure I from blowing away in high winds. A tie 17 to keep weather shield tidy when not in use. A pole with a hook 19 to locate D ring 18 a helpful aid for ascending and descending weather shield pole.
