Abstract

A device for cleaning gutters on the exterior of buildings comprises a solid block, preferably made of plastic which is caused to slide within the interior of the gutter, preferably by a mechanical pulley system which is made out of metal, plastic and cords or ropes. The metal components of the mechanical pulley system are ideally made out of stainless steel to prevent rusting.

Description

l r, DESCRIPTION
Gutter Cleaner It is well known that blocked "uttering causes much damage to properties during inclement weather conditions.
The invention is a gutter cleaning mechanism which can be fitted to the outside of any properties, and cleans the "uttering from debris build up. The mechanism is operated from ground level.
The fact that the mechanism can be operated from ground level resolves the need for any dangerous ladders up against buildings in order to clear any blocked "uttering.
An object of this invention is to minimise health and safety risks associated with cleaning of blocked gutterings as the same can be operated from ground level on a regular basis without the need for training and by used by any competent person on a regular basis.
Accordingly, the cleaner works by a system of ropes and pulleys attached to a sliding block, which in turn, slides along the inside of the "uttering clearing the debris into the downspout.
The Pulleys are comprised of metal or a hardwearing plastic in order to stop rust from occurring to the mechanism. The block is made out of a heavier, hard lump of plastic and could possibly be shaped for a more streamlined cleaning effect.
The invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: FIGURE 1: Shows a side view of the whole mechanism with guttcring in clear view, (numbered 1) As shown in Figure 1, the mechanism comprises of a double pulley which is screwed via a bracket onto the outside of any building( numbered 2) The Single pulley at the opposite end of the double pulley mechanism is attached via a bracket onto on the inside of the "uttering closest to the building,( numbered 8) Both Pulley mechanisms radiate from a tubular bearing.
As shown in figure I, just one continuous loop of rope or cord can be used to work the pulley mechanism which can be operated from ground level, (numbered 3) As shown in figure I, each end of the rope is attached to a solid plastic sliding block by a screw in type hook, (numbered 5), and tied off at each end to stop the rope from slipping (numbered 4)
The sliding block is then pulled by the rope cord via the pulley mechanism in order to clear the "uttering, and pushes any debris down the downspout as outlined in figure I (numbered 6) The Solid sliding block and the actual wheel bearing of the pulleys is made out of hard plastic' all bearings are stainless steel as are the brackets holding the pulleys onto the building and Buttering respectively.

Claims (5)
