Abstract

An operating arrangement on a driver's seat 1 of an industrial truck comprises an armrest 5 and an operating lever unit 6, whereby armrest 5 and operating lever unit 6 is mounted onto seat 5 by carrier 4. Carrier 4 allows operating lever unit 6 to adjust in the horizontal direction relative to armrest 5, and armrest 5 together with operating lever unit 6 can be adjusted in the vertical direction relative to the driver's seat, and locking device 7 for locking operating lever unit 6 in its new position. This allows the driver to reach the operating lever unit 6.

Description

Operatinn arrangement on a driver's seat of an industrial truck The
invention relates to an operating arrangement on a driver's seat of an industrial truck, an armrest and an operating lever unit being fixed to the driver's seat.
In industrial trucks, in particular in the case of fork-lift trucks, reach trucks or fork-lift reach trucks, the operating lever unit for actuating the functions of a load handling device are controlled by an operator with the right hand. The operating lever unit can have a single multifunctional lever or a set comprising a plurality of individual levers, in 10 the second case a specific function of the lifting device being assigned to each individual lever. With the operating lever unit, for example, the vertical movement of a load along a lifting frame, a tilting movement of the load about a horizontal axis, shifting a load forward and shifting a load laterally can be controlled. The operating lever unit is normally arranged in such a way that it can conveniently be reached by an 15 operator sitting on a driver's seat. in addition, an armrest is often provided, on which the operator can support their lower arm or their elbow during the actuation of the operating lever unit. It is known to fix the operating lever unit and the armrest to the driver's seat, as a result of which these components remain in the same position during an adjustment of the driver's seat. Furthermore, it is known to fix the operating 20 lever unit such that it can be adjusted relative to the driver's seat. In this case, however, the position of the operating lever unit relative to the armrest may change in an ergonomically unfavourable way.
An object of the invention is to provide an ergonomically advantageous operating 25 arrangement on a driver's seat of an industrial truck.
According to the invention, the operating lever unit can be adjusted in the horizontal direction relative to the armrest. The horizontal distance between operating lever unit and armrest can therefore be set by the operator. This permits the position of the 30 operating lever unit to be adapted to the length of the lower arm of the operator.
According to a simple constructional design, in order to adjust the operating lever unit relative to the armrest, a translational guide is provided. The translational guide permits rectilinear adjustment and prevents rotation of the operating lever unit relative
to the armrest. The guide may comprise, for example, a rectilinear or arched slot, which is arranged in a metal sheet connected to the armrest. Two rollers spaced apart from each other and guided in the slot may then be arranged on the operating lever unit. According to an advantageous development of the invention, the armrest, together with the operating lever unit, can be adjusted in the vertical direction relative to the driver's seat. The height of the armrest and the operating lever unit can therefore be adapted to the bodily size, in particular to the back length and the upper arm length, of the 1 0 operator.
In order to adjust the armrest relative to the driver's seat a translational guide is preferably provided. Here, too, the translational guide can be formed by rollers guided in a rectilinear slot.
According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the operating lever unit is fixed in the vertical direction relative to the armrest. This is true in all positions of the lever. A vertical adjustment of the operating lever unit can therefore only be carried out jointly with the armrest. The set position of the operating lever unit 20 and of the armrest can be fixed if at least one locking device is provided for the horizontal adjustment of the operating element unit and/or the vertical adjustment of the armrest.
A common locking device is preferably provided for the horizontal adjustment of the 25 operating element unit and the vertical adjustment of the armrest. The locking is therefore carried out for both directions of movement by means of a single operating element. As is usual in industrial trucks, the driver's seat can be adjusted in the horizontal and/or 30 in the vertical direction relative to a frame of the industrial truck.
In this case, the armrest and the operating lever unit are fixed to the driver's seat in such a way that the armrest and the operating lever unit are moved as well during a horizontal and/or vertical adjustment of the driver's seat. Adjustment of the driver's 35 seat itself therefore alters nothing in terms of the position of the operating element unit and the armrest relative to the driver's seat.
Further advantages and details of the invention will be explained in more detail using the exemplary embodiment illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows a driver's seat with an operating arrangement according to the 5 invention, Figure 2 shows an operating arrangement with the operating lever unit pushed back and the armrest lowered, Figure 3 shows an operating arrangement with the operating lever pushed forward and the armrest lowered, 10 Figure 4 shows an operating arrangement with the operating lever unit pushed forward and the armrest raised. -
Figure 1 shows a driver's seat 1 of an industrial truck, which can be fixed to a driver's position of the industrial truck by a seat rail 2 such that it can be displaced forwards 15 and backwards. In addition, an adjusting mechanism for the vertical adjustment overall of the driver's seat can be provided. The operating arrangement 3 fixed to the driver's seat comprises a basic carrier 4 connected rigidly to the driver's seat, an armrest 5 mounted on the basic carrier 4 such that it can be displaced vertically, and an operating lever unit 6 mounted on the armrest 5 such that it can be displaced 20 horizontally and, in an other embodiment, also vertically. For the operation of the industrial truck, the armrest 5 is also provided with an upholstered armrest. In the present exemplary embodiment, the operating element unit has four individual levers arranged beside one another. Equipping the operating element unit with a multifunctional lever or other operating means is likewise possible. By means of a 25 locking device 7, whose actuating lever is shown in the present view, the mobility of the armrest 5 and of the operating lever unit 6 can be blocked. In the present exemplary embodiment, this blocking is carried out by means of clamping.
In Figure 2, the operating arrangement is shown in side view. The operating lever unit 30 6 has been pushed fully rearward, that is to say to the right in the drawing, and the armrest 5 has been fully lowered.
Figure 3 shows the operating arrangement with the operating lever unit 6 pushed fully forward. The horizontal distance between the operating lever unit 6 and armrest 5 is 35 variable in this case. On the other hand, the vertical distance between the operating lever unit 6 and armrest 5 cannot be altered in the present embodiment, but may be adjustable in another version.
In Figure 4, the arrangement is shown in a position in which the operating lever unit 6 together with the armrest 5 has been raised. In this case, the vertical distance between the armrest 5, and therefore the operating lever unit 6, and the basic carrier 4 fixed to 5 the driver's seat is changed.
