Abstract
An adjustable platform 1 is attached to the underside of an internal window sill 15 by countersunk screws 14. Height adjustment is effected by turning a countersunk screw or bolt 8 which runs within a plastic plug 16 inserted into the brickwork 17. The adjustable platform 1 may be injection moulded or extruded.
Description
- Fast window board fling system The present invention is a method of
fixing the front edge of a window board to P.V.C.u windows, but not exclusively, in such away that it eliminates the need to pack up the window board at the front edge on top of the inner brick or block work, using silicone and other packings to get the inner window board level with the outer window frame sill. Ibis is a time consuming and untidy method of securing the window board to the inner wall structure.
It is object of the present invention to obviate or mitigate the above disadvantages.
The new invention allows it to adjusts up or down to whatever level you which in seconds without the need of silicone or other methods of packing.
According to the first aspect of the invention there is provided an extrusion or injection moulding which has a countersunk hole in one side of the extrusion, this countersink is to take a screw but the hole is drilled for a size smaller, this will give a very tight fit around the screw and allow it to bite into the sides of the hole, the reverse side has two holes drilled at the front edge, size 6 screw and countersunk for same, these allow the front edge of the extrusion or injection moulding to be screwed to the window boarded when levelled and in place, this allows the removal of the window board at any time.
According to the present invention a hole will be drilled into the front edge of the brick work to receive a nylon plug or similar, this plug will receive a screw or bolt or any other suitable threaded method, which has been attached to the flat or any other suitable shaped injection moulding, this unique method will allow the the injection moulding to be raised or lowered as required to level the window board.
Further aspect of the present invention is that the injection moulding can be glued to the window board with silicone or similar.
A futher aspect of the invention is that the injection moulding can be affixed to the window board with double-sided adhesive tape.
Ibe extrusion/injection moulding can be made from plastic, metal or other similar materials. A second aspect of the invention is that the threaded screw or bolt can be a integral part of the injection moulding, manufactured from the same material as the flat or similar shaped platform, this eliminates the need for separate screw or bolt fixings.
A third aspect of the invention can be that the flat or other suitable shaped platform will have a skirt or flange situated below a indentation in one flat side, this indentation will receive a shaped head to match the shape of the indentation and the flange, the shape head is attached to a threaded screw or bolt, this is inserted into the flange and indentation, which holds the shaped head into the indentation in the flat platform, the flange or skirt has a bevel attachment to the inner face of the flange, this allows the specially shaped head of the screw or bolt to click into the indentation and be
withdrawn or replaced at any time, on the opposite side of the indentation is a slot or Philips shape that will alloOw a screwdriver to screw the threaded member which is attached to the platform as described into a plastic plug or similar, which is fastened into the brick or block work this allows the flat platform to be raised or lowered at will, to attain a height required.
A further aspect of the invention is that if the window board is required to be removed, a strong tug or knock on the underside of the window board will allow the shaped head of the of the screw shaped fastenings to be parted from the flat injection moulded platform which is attached to the underside of the inner window board, Conversely, the window board can be replaced on to the shaped head of the threaded screw or bolt after having been removed The present invention is a unique and new method of fixing and levelling a window board or similar to a P.V.C.u or timber or other, to internal window boards and the brickwork.
