Abstract
The invention relates to a holding device 1 for sewage sludge or similar product for conditioning which is to be processed and/or stored, with a holding space 3, which has a feed opening 5, and a filling device 6, which can be connected to the holding space 3 and preferably comprises a pivotable filling pipe, for a vehicle 12 or similar which is to be filled, wherein a conditioning medium silo 4, such as a lime silo for example, is associated with the holding device 1 for adding a conditioning medium. In order also to enable conditioning medium to be added in a metered fashion in the case of individual batches of product for conditioning which is to be withdrawn, the filling device 6 can be connected to the conditioning medium silo 4 via a connection line 10. Conditioning medium can be delivered to the product for conditioning in the direction of flow of the latter via the connection line 10 after leaving the holding space.
Description
Holding device 2386890 The invention relates to a holding device for
sewage sludge or similar product for conditioning which is to be processed and/or stored, with a holding space, which has a feed opening, and a filling device, which can be connected 5 to the holding space and preferably comprises a pivotable filling pipe, for a vehicle or similar which is to be filled, wherein a conditioning medium silo, such as a lime silo for example, is associated with the holding device for adding a conditioning medium.
Holding devices of the above-mentioned type are known as sewage sludge silos into the holding spaces of which a mixing basin mechanism is usually integrated in order - by adding a conditioning medium such as lime - to mix the 15 sewage sludge with lime inside the holding space and thoroughly work and intensively blend sewage sludge and conditioning medium by means of the mixing basin mechanism.
The sewage sludge with added conditioning medium inside the holding space can be delivered to a vehicle by means of a 20 filling device formed, for example, as a filling pipe. For this purpose a sewage sludge silo is usually formed as an underclearance silo, so that a vehicle can run underneath in order to carry away the sewage sludge with added conditioning medium through a bottom filling opening which 25 is to be opened up.
Conditioning medium cannot be added in precision-metered fashion with this known sewage sludge silo. It is in particular impossible to fill vehicles which are provided 30 with differing added quantities of a conditioning medium with sewage sludge in batches. If sewage sludge which is not mixed with a conditioning medium is required, a sewage sludge silo with previously added conditioning medium has to be run completely empty.
The object of the invention is to provide a holding device of the type initially mentioned by means of which a
conditioning medium can be individually added for sewage sludge fillings required in each case.
In order to achieve this object, the holding device of the 5 type initially mentioned is characterized in that the filling device can be connected to the conditioning medium silo via a connection line through which a conditioning medium can be delivered to the product for conditioning in the direction of flow of the latter after leaving the 10 holding space.
The subclaims are to be referred to with regard to further important advantageous developments.
15 As the connection line can be directly connected to the filling device, a conditioning medium can be delivered to the withdrawn product for conditioning, e.g. the sewage sludge, in the metered quantity desired in each case immediately following withdrawal from the holding space and 20 blended with the product for conditioning inside the filling device before it is delivered to the vehicle or similar container which is to be filled. The result is a holding device which can individually provide batches of product for conditioning which is to be withdrawn with the 25 desired added conditioning medium quantity. It is also possible to withdraw a product for conditioning which is not mixed with a conditioning medium.
An important advantage also lies in the fact that it is 30 unnecessary to mix the entire quantity of held product which is stored in the holding device with a conditioning medium in a certain metered quantity, so that there is no need to firstly completely withdraw a quantity of product for conditioning from the holding space in order to store, 35 treat and withdraw a differently adjusted product for conditioning.
The filling device is expediently provided with a conveyor for the product for conditioning and also for the conditioning medium, this measure taking care both of conveying and corresponding intermixing. The filling pipe S of a filling device is expediently oriented obliquely upwards such that a lorry can travel under the end of the filling pipe. The corresponding holding silo can therefore end near the ground. The connection line to the conditioning medium silo ends in the filling device such lo that the conveyor operates optimally along its effective conveyor length. The actual connection line may be provided with an appropriate controlled opening which operates as a controlled metering device in order to add an adjustable conditioning medium quantity, for example also in 15 accordance with an adjusted conveyor speed, and which, for example, can also be automatically activated with manipulation of other activation positions such as, e.g. the beginning of a withdrawal process.
20 A further important advantage of the holding device according to the invention lies in the fact that a collector can decide himself whether he wishes to load product for conditioning which is mixed with the conditioning medium or an unmixed product, which provides 25 the possibility of also significantly reducing problems of odour in the area of the holding device, as there is just a brief reaction time with a conditioning medium Moreover, the holding device according to the invention is of a far more favourable construction than conventional holding 30 devices, as the filling device can also at the same time be used as a mixing unit, thereby eliminating high capital costs for mixing units used inside the holding space.
Further advantages and developments of the invention will 35 emerge from the following description and the drawings, in
which:
Figure 1 is a front view onto an embodiment of a holding device according to the invention; Figure 2 is a side view of the embodiment according 5to Figure 1, and Figure 3 is a plan view onto the embodiment according to Figure 1.
10 Equivalent parts have been given corresponding reference numbers in the drawings. The number 1 generally marks the holding device, which has a holding container 2 in the form of a silo with an internal storage space 3. A conditioning medium silo in the form of a lime silo 4 is associated with 15 the silo 2. The silo 2 may be filled from above (Figure 3) through a feed opening 5.
The holding device has a filling device 6 for a vehicle 12.
The filling device 6 has a filling pipe 7 which runs 20 obliquely upwards and has an internal conveyor worm 8. This filling pipe 7 is connected to a withdrawal pipe and to a connection line 10, which is connected to the lime silo 4.
The connection line 10 also has an internal conveyor 11, so that the conditioning medium such as, e.g. lime, can be 25 delivered to the filling pipe. Internal control devices, which are not shown in detail, such as, for example, a metering device, are provided to add exactly the desired quantity of conditioning medium.
