Abstract

A hand tool for removing residual plaster materials from the linings of doors and other openings, comprising a central hand grip 1 and two cleaning heads A, B, one at each end of the elongate axis of the tool. Each cleaning head has a pair of blades 3 joined along the axis of the tool and having a v-shaped cross section, such that the blades can act as both guide and cleaning edge 2. The cleaning edges 2 may be made to size or trimmed by the user and it is intended that each cleaning head will clean differing depths of lining. The tool may be manufactured as a single piece or in several pieces with replaceable cleaning heads from plastics or metal or combination of these materials. The tool is suitable for both left and right handed use.

Description

<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
Plasterers lining cleaner The invention relates to a small hand tool which removes residual plaster materials from opening/door linings, in building construction.
Most opening linings have a rebaited edge to allow for door, leaving two different thickness of edge to clean. Such a task is usually performed with a variety of tool at the preference of the plasterer, including plasterers float and decorators scraper/filling knife.
The procedure can be time consuming and inaccurate.
The object of the invention is to provide a purpose-built tool, that has the capacity to clean two different thickness of lining edge if needed, and which consitant accuracy helps reduce the time of the procedure.
Accordingly this invention comprises of a central hand grip, and a cleaning head at each end. Two cleaning heads permit the tool the ability of cleaning the two different thicknesses of lining edge, in one tool.
Each cleaning head has a designated lining edge to clean, and includes two wings which act as both guide and cleaning edge. This allows left and right hand use.
The cleaning heads can either be made to size or oversized and trimed to measure by user on site.
Preferably the tool is made of plastics material as a one piece or a combination of plastics and metals as a multi-piece with replacement heads.
A prefered embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which:
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Figure 1 shows an angled side view of the whole tool.
As shown in figure 1 the tool comprises of a central grip 1 with cleaning heads A, B at opposite ends.
Both heads A, B are oversize with two wings 3. Each wing has a cleaning edge 2.
When the tool is held in position on lining one cleaning edge 2 maintians correct position with the other wing 3. Each head A, B are left hand, right hand with the wings 3 acting as either guide or cleaning edge accordingly.
The dotted lines 4 indicate as example how the correct length of the cleaning edge is attained. Note in this example by trimming 4 the wing 3 lower down the cleaning edge 2 on head B it allows the tool too clean two differing lining thickness.
