Abstract

A skateboard comprises a main board 10, left and right sheathing members 20,20'. The main board 10 is made of metal by extrusion, and is provided interiorly thereof with a plurality of through holes with various geometric shapes to leave a plurality of bracing ribs 12. The main board is cut and bent to form a desired shape. The bottom of the main board 10 is mounted with a plurality of wheels to form the skateboard. The main board 10 may be made from aluminum or aluminum alloy. The sheathing member 20 may be provided with a projecting element (22, figure 1) to form a brake.

Description

TITLE: SKATEBOARD BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention is related to a skateboard, and especially to a metal skateboard of which the main board is formed integrally and provided with a plurality of through holes and bracing ribs, the main board is simplified in its procedure of production, reduced in weight, and is particularly suitable for mounting thereon wheels to be used for excise of skateboard or the like.

2. Description of the Prior Art Along with rapid development of industry and commerce, busy life form quite a pressure on people, hence various activities for leisure have been flourishingly developed; among those excises for youth, the one they are most fond of is the excise of skateboard. Therefore, designing of skateboards becomes the most important thing to make outstanding of such excise; and thereby, various skateboards have been being developed.

The main board of a conventional skateboard is made by forming a plate by lapping a plurality of wood sheets over one another, each wood sheet is applied with melamine glue, the top layer and the bottom layer of the plate are covered with slipping-proof cloth and a paper with a chosen pattern. Then the sheets are pressing combined under the temperature of 150 C and the pressure of 200 kg/c m to make both ends thereof be bent upwardly; the bottom layer of the plate forms a uniform melamine glue layer, and the plate is cut to form the main board of the skateboard. Such structure is subjected to breaking by collision by virtue that the wood sheets have inferior strength, and is subjected to splitting when meeting with water or humid gas; therefore, it is very complicated and material wasteful in production, not mentioning to make products with metal gloss, and thereby is undesired structurally.

In view of this, the inventor of the present invention developed the metal skateboard which has good strength, light weight, it is simple for production and has metal gloss to endue it with esthetical appearance.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The primary object of the present invention is to provide a metal skateboard, the weight of the skateboard is reduced by providing through holes and bracing ribs without influencing its strength.

The secondary object of the present invention is to provide a metal skateboard, its process of production is simplified by integrally forming the main board of the skateboard, and processing of it is easy, thereby cost of production can be effectively reduced and industrial competition of it can be raised.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a metal skateboard, it has natural metal gloss to endue it with esthetical appearance by making the main board of the skateboard of metal and by providing sheathing members on both end edges of the main board.

To achieve the above stated objects, the main board of the skateboard of the present invention is provided with a left and a right sheathing member covering the two end edges thereof ; wherein, the main board of the skateboard is made of metal by extrusion, and is provided interiorly thereof with a plurality of through holes with various geometric shapes to leave a plurality of bracing ribs, then the main board is cut and bent to form the desired shape. The bottom of the main board is mounted with a plurality of wheels to form the skateboard. In this way, the process of production of the present invention is simplified, cost of production is reduced and industrial competition of it is raised. By providing the through holes and the bracing ribs in the main board, the present invention has light weight, large strength, and is endued with esthetical appearance by providing the metal main board with

sheathing members on end edges thereof to form perfect edge decoration.

The present invention will be apparent in its features and structure after reading the detailed description of the preferred embodiment thereof in reference to the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT Referring firstly to Figs. 1,2, the metal skateboard of the present invention is comprised of a main board 10, a left and a right sheathing member 20,20'and a plurality of wheels 30 mounted on the bottom of the main board 10.

Wherein, the main board 10 is made of aluminum or aluminum alloy to have a front and a rear end both raised upwardly, the front and rear ends are cut to have narrower widths in order to be slipped thereover the left and right sheathing members 20,20'. The main board 10 is provided therein longitudinally with a plurality of through holes 11 with various geometric shapes to form a plurality of

bracing ribs 12. Thereby, the main board 10 is strengthened.

The sheathing members 20,20'are made of plastic or rubber, they are provided therein both with a receiving space 21 which is in a shape corresponding to that of either of the front and rear ends of the main board 10. At least one of the sheathing members 20,20'is provided beneath it with a protrusion 22 to form a brake.

The wheels 30 are common wheels used generally for conventional skateboards, they can be screw connected beneath the main board 10.

Referring to Figs. 3 and 4, the main board 10 of the skateboard of the present invention is made of aluminum, aluminum alloy or other metal and integrally formed by extrusion to have interiorly thereof a plurality of through holes 11, then the main board 10 is cut into a suitable shape, and the front and rear ends of the main board 10 are both bent to a desired angle to complete the shape of the main board 10. And then the sheathing members 20,20'are screw connected or engaged with the front and rear ends of the main board 10 to complete the structure of the main board 10 of the present invention. Referring to Fig. 5, in practical use of the present invention, the main board 10 can be mounted beneath it with the wheels 30 to complete the aluminum skateboard.

Referring to Figs. 1-5, the main board 10 of the present invention is made of metal and formed integrally by extrusion, hence the process of production thereof is simplified, and cost of production is reduced. By providing the longitudinal through holes 11 therein, the weight of it as a whole is reduced, and by providing the bracing ribs 12 therein, it has a large strength, and connection of it with the wheels 30 can be firmer ; besides, the main board 10 of the present invention is made of metal, it can have shining metal gloss after treatment, or can have its feeling of quality increased by frosting treatment to increase its esthetical appearance. The left and

right sheathing members 20,20'put on the main board 10 can cover the exposed through holes 11 formed by cutting the main board 10 to perfectly obscure and decorate them, and they are made of plastic or rubber, they have the function of buffering to avoid damage of the main board 10 by collision.

As shown in Fig. 6 showing another embodiment of the present invention, its structure is generally same as that of preceding embodiment except that the main board 10 and the sheathing members 20, 20'are provided thereon with a plurality of LED lamps 40, and a circuit or an horn is provided in the through holes 11 of the main board 10. Thereby, the embodiment can be endued with acoustic and light effects.

The present invention thereby has the following advantages: 1. The main board of the present invention has therein through holes and bracing ribs, hence it has the advantage of light weight and good strength, this increases its practicality.

2. The main board of the present invention is made of metal and formed integrally, its process of production is simplified, processing of it is easy, thereby cost of production can be effectively reduced and industrial competition of it can be raised.

3. The main board of the present invention is made of metal, and has edge decorations on the end edges thereof, hence it has natural metal gloss and perfect esthetical lines to increase its entire esthetical appearance.

In conclusion, the present invention not only can get rid of the defects resided in the conventional skateboard structures, by providing the through holes and bracing ribs, it can have light weight and good strength, and its process of production is simplified, processing of it is easy, and cost of production is reduced ; it is uneasy to be damaged, and has a perfect appearance. Thereby, practicality as

well as convenience of use of the entire skateboard is largely increased, and the present invention suits various skateboard structures, its value of practicality is good for sure.

Claims

1. A skateboard comprising a main board, a left and a right sheathing member and wheels, wherein : said main board is made of metal, extended therein longitudinally with a plurality of through holes to form a plurality of bracing ribs, thereby, said main board is strengthened ; said left and right sheathing members are provided therein both with a receiving space which is in a shape corresponding to that of either of said front and

rear ends of said main board ; said sheathing members are put and fixed on the left and right ends of said main board to complete the structure of said main board, and said main board is mounted beneath it with said wheels to complete said skateboard.

2. A skateboard as in claim 1, wherein, said main board is made of aluminum or aluminum alloy.

3. A skateboard as in claim 1, wherein, said main board has a front and a rear end both raised upwardly, said front and rear ends have narrowed widths.

4. A skateboard as in claim 1, wherein, at least one of said sheathing members is provided beneath it with a protrusion to form a brake.

5. A skateboard substantially as described herein with reference to and as illustrated by the accompanying drawings.
