Abstract
In the case of a hand grenade with a trigger head (3) upon which a safety clip (5) is pivotably and releasably attached, the safety clip (5) is retained by means of a moveable tethering element (10) such that it cannot be lost.
Description
Hand Grenade The invention relates to a hand grenade with a trigger head
on which a safety clip is attached in a pivotable and releasable manner.
5 With hand grenades the sprung firing pin piece is retained in the firing position by the safety clip, which is prevented from flipping over by means of a splint. As soon as the safety clip is released, it pivots due to the action of the firing pin piece over the trigger head, is released from it and flies in an uncontrolled manner Trough the air and onto the floor. Since, in the case of being thrown from a helicopter, this could affect the lo rotor, or in the case of dummy grenades results in a large number of environment-
polluting clips scattered over the ground, an object of the invention is to avoid this.
According to the invention, the safety clip is retained by means of a moveable tethering element such that it cannot be lost. The freedom of movement of the safety clip in flipping remains unlimited in this way up to when the trigger head is released, s but the clip cannot fly off.
In a preferred embodiment the tethering element includes a flexible plastics strip that is provided on one end with a snap-in knob that is snapped into a bore in the safety clip.
Polyamides and polyethylene are particularly suitable as materials.
When the trigger head is screwed onto a threaded neck on the hand grenade body, it is zo furthermore preferably provided that the plastics ship or band has on its other end a ring that is pushed onto the threaded neck and is retained by the trigger head.
The invention will hereinafter be described in more detail with reference to the Figures of the attached drawing, without being limited thereto.
There is shown, in: 25 Fig. 1 a side view of a hand grenade, Fig. 2 a longitudinal section through the hand grenade,
Fig. 3 a plan view of an embodiment of the tethering element, and Fig. 4 shown enlarged, the area of connection to the safety clip.
A hand grenade is provided with a hand grenade body 1, which in the case of a durn ny hand grenade contains no explosive. The hand grenade body 1 is provided with a s threaded neck 2 upon which a trigger head 3 with a safety clip 5 is screwed. The safety clip 5 is retained by a splint 6, and is mounted in a pivotably limited manner by means of end hooks 7 on bearing pins 4, so it detaches and is discarded after being pivoted or rotated by a certain degree. In order not to allow the discarded safety clip to fly off in an uncontrolled manner, a tethering element 10 is provided that keeps the released lo safety clip 15 connected to the hand grenade body 1.
The tethering element 10 includes a flexible plastics strip 11 with a snap-in knob 13 on one end and a ring 12 on the second end. The ring 12 is pushed onto the threaded neck 2 and retained by means of the trigger head 3. The snap-in knob 13 is snapped into a bore 8 in the safety clip S in the proximity of the end hooks 7.
Claims (5)
