May 22, 1924 Vehicle-axle bearings; dust, excluding.-In an axle support in which the axle is capable of displacement in the direction of the wheel axis. the axlebox a is provided with rigidly attached wing members a, a<2> adapted resiliently to support the load and is also provided with rooking means such as a<4>, d<1> which enables an angular or tilting movement to take place between the axle-box and its axle as displacement takes place in the direction of the wheel axis. The wing members are preferably divided to accommodate the yoke g and the bearing springs b which are seated, preferably, on a rocking member c. The axle-bearing block d moves laterally with the axle by means such as a flange d<2> and groove e, and an oil and dust excluding washer f<1> is pressed against a seal f<2> on the axle-box by a spring f<3> which takes its abutment upon a collar f on the axle.
