Abstract

A vehicle position indicator for use when parking in a garage comprises a suspended reflective tape 2 whose length may be adjusted by adjuster 3 and a pouch or buffer 4 which houses the tape and locks it at the required length. The buffer may also have a reflector 5.

Description

REFLECTIVE GARAGE PARK INDICATOR This invention relates to a reflective garage park indicator.

Reflective vehicle parking indicators are used both inside and outside of private companies and public multi-story vehicle parking areas. They are usually in the form of reflective tapes on fixed barriers, reflective signs fixed in appropriate positions, and portable reflective cones and other road markings for a drivers guidance when parking their vehicle.

An individual person parking their vehicle within the confinements of their own private garage rarely use parking aids when parking their vehicle in an often obstructed, congested and difficult garage parking space.

According to the present invention there is provided a portable reflective garage park indicator comprising of a triangle for suspending the assembly with. A length of reflective tape serving as the main reflective parking indicator for the driver. An adjuster for adjusting the reflective tape to the required height. A pouch/buffer serving on the inside as a pouch to house the reflective tape and adjuster, and on the outside as a buffer when the vehicle purposely touches the outer buffer material when parking. A reflector fastened onto the buffer gives additional reflective indication to the vehicle driver.

A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing which :- FIGURE 1-Shows in perspective an isometric view of the reflective garage park indicator.

In order to locate and operate the Reflective Garage Park Indicator, hang triangle 1, for example on a hook, nail, screw, bolt or other suitable means (not shown). Lift and slide pouch/buffer 4 upward on the tape and adjust the reflective tape 2 to required height using adjuster 3. Re-house the pouch/buffer 4 over the reflective tape 2 and adjuster 3, automatically locking the assembly at the required height.

Claims

CLAIMS 1. A portable Reflective Garage Park Indicator comprising of a triangle to hang the assembly with. A length of reflective tape serving as the main indicator to the driver when light is shining on it. An adjuster to enable different lengths of tape to be made. A pouch/buffer housing the reflective tape and adjuster. It will also lock off the tape and adjuster when required height has been obtained. A buffer, which is incorporated into the pouch, when a vehicle touches the soft buffer no damage, will occur. A reflector is fitted to the pouch/buffer giving an additional reflective indication to the driver.
2 A Reflective Garage Park Indicator as claimed in claim 1 wherein the triangle is used to suspend the assembly. It can be made from plastic, metal, wood or any other suitable durable materials, and of different colours dimensions and configurations.
3. A Reflective Garage Park Indicator as claimed in claim 1 and claim 2 wherein a length of reflective tape is used indicating to the driver the precise parking position of the vehicle. It can be made from fabric, plastic, metal or any other suitable durable materials, and of different reflective colours and designs, dimensions and configurations.
4. A Reflective Garage Park Indicator as claimed in claims 1,2 and 3 wherein an adjuster fitted onto the reflective tape enables the reflective tape to be adjusted to the required length. It can be made from plastic, metal, wood or any other suitable durable materials, and of different colours, dimensions and configurations.

A Reflective Garage Park Indicator as claimed in claims 1,2, 3 and 4, wherein a pouch/buffer houses the reflective tape and adjuster and will lock and secure the reflective tape and adjuster when required length of tape has been obtained. The pouch/buffer acts as a soft safety buffer when a vehicle touches it. It can be made from soft rubber, plastic, sponge, padded material, metal, wood or any other suitable durable materials or combination of these materials, of different colours, designs, dimensions and configurations.
6. A Reflective Garage Park Indicator as claimed in claims 1,2, 3,4 and 5, wherein a reflector can be attached to the pouch and buffer giving additional reflective indication to the vehicle driver. It can be adhered, stitched, painted or by other suitable means of fastening onto the pouch/buffer. It can be made from reflective plastic, material, paint, wood, metal or any other suitable durable materials, and of different reflective colours and designs, dimensions and configurations.
7. A Reflective Garage Park Indicator as claimed in claims 1,2, 3, 4,5 and 6, wherein the assembly is portable and lightweight, it can be moved quickly and easily to other desired locations.
8. A Reflective Garage Park Indicator substantially as described herein with reference to Fig. 1 of the accompanying drawing.
