Abstract
A shower curtain water resistant retainer, comprises a channelled section 1 fixed to a wall/structure and bath/shower base 6/7, and a removable channel section 2. The removable section 2 locks a shower curtain 5 into the channelled section 1, forming a water resistant barrier between the curtain and wall/structure and the curtain and the bath or shower unit 6/7. A fixed curtain hook 3 is attached to the wall/structure, securing the first eyelet of the shower curtain preventing the curtain from pulling out of the retainer. To remove the shower curtain 5, the curtain is unhooked from the curtain hook 3 and the removable channel section 2 unclipped, releasing the curtain. The corner of the fixed channel section 1A can be trimmed to the profile of the corner between the wall/structure and the bath/shower base.

SHOWER CURTAIN WATER RESISTANT RETAINER
This invention relates to a shower curtain retainer which will also form a water resistant barrier.
Shower curtains are widely used in everyday life, at home and in some commercial situations, e. g. hotels. In most cases the curtain hangs loose or other bathroom objects are used to secure the curtain on the bath or shower surface. However in most cases water will get passed and finish up on the floor.
The above methods described can and are ineffective and should leaks persist they will cause long term effects in the area.
A shower curtain water resistant retainer, comprising of a fixed section to a wall and a removable section. There is also a curtain hook device used to locate the curtains first eyelet. The removable section is used to lock a shower curtain into the fixed section and secure the curtain, thurs forming a water resistant barrier between the curtain and wall, also curtain and bath or shower unit.
Preferably the retainer would be made of a plastics material, however other materials may be considered.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to accompanying drawings in which :- Fig. 1 shows a side exploded view of only the design.
Fig. 2 shows a front exploded view of the design.
Fig. 3 shows a plan exploded view of only the design.
Fig. 4 illustrates in perspective an exploded view of the design.
Fig. 5 illustrates in perspective how the design fits together.

Referring to all drawings, (fig. l-fig. 12), channeled sections (1) and (2) lock together and hold shower curtain (5). This will provide a water resistant barrier between shower wall (8) and shower curtain (5). In addition curtain hook (3), assists in securing the curtain and also prevents it pulling out of the retainer (2) in the event of over tension on the curtain.
Referring to fig. 4, the shower curtain water resistant retainer comprises of a channeled section (1) to be fixed to wall (8) and bath/shower base (6)/ (7), as shown in fig. 8a/b & 9a/b. A curtain hook (3), is also secured to the same wall, as in fig. 12. The shower curtain (5) attaches onto the curtain hook (3), and then locates into fixed section (l). This is then locked in place by channeled section (2) in fig. 4, this is illustrated in fig. 5 & 6, also shown in fig. 8a/b, 9a/b, 10 & 11.
The fixed channeled section (1), has a sub section labeled (la). This is the comer of (1) that locates on the wall (8) and the bath/shower base (6)/ (7). This has been identified as this area can be trimmed to the profile of the situation, i. e. from a right angle to a cove comer.
The design can be utilized in a situation comprising a shower facility in a bath (6) as shown in fig. 8a/b & 10. It can also be used with a standard shower base (7) as illustrated in fig. 9a1b & 11.
Alternative designs would be fundamentally the same, with optional styling or colouring as shown in fig. 7, clearly highlighting items (1) & (2) with curved shaped sides. This will provide a smoother aesthetically pleasing finish to the design.
For shower curtain removal simply unclip curtain retainer (2). This will release curtain (5), then remove the curtain from the curtain hook (3).
To re-install, slip curtain (5) over hook (3) and insert curtain (5) into item (1) as in fig. 6 and lock in with item (2).
