Abstract

238,051. Atkinson, S. July 1, 1924. Radiators, motor-car and like. - A sectional radiator comprises separate groups of water tubes connected to top and bottom section boxes that are removably connected to junction boxes on the head and base manifolds of the radiator by means of screwed nipples projecting into the junction boxes. The manifolds A, B are connected together by hollow stays C of round, oval, rectangular, or other section. The section boxes N, P to which the water tubes M are connected fit between guides T and against junction boxes G, H, communicating with the manifolds A, B, and are provided with screwed nipples Q which project through holes J in the boxes G, H and are secured by nuts, packing being used to make water-tight joints. The boxes G, H are provided with apertures through which access may be be obtained to the nuts, removable cover plates L being fitted over the apertures. Gills S are threaded on the tubes M.
