Abstract

The umbrella support device consists of bar 1 which is attached at right angles to another bar 5 to form, in use, an inverted T-shape. The horizontal bar 5 is adjustable in length and is fitted to the handles of a child's pram or buggy by two vice style clips, in such a way as to allow the whole device to pivot around the handle. The upright bar 1 supports the handle of the umbrella which is attached to it with two vice style clips. This vertical bar is extendable, allowing for the height of the umbrella to be altered.

Description

<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
UMBRELLA T-BAR FRAME The invention relates to a frame that would be used to hold an umbrella that attaches to the handles of a pram or where convenient.
Pushing a pram in the wind and rain is difficult enough and unless you have three arms holding an umbrella would be best avoided.
The object of this invention is to provide a third arm to hold an umbrella while pushing a pram.
Accordingly this invention provides a T-Bar shape frame with two vice style clips, mounted on the top of the vertical part of the T-Bar to hold an umbrella with a pair of two vice style clips mounted together to both hold on to the pram and either end of the horizontal T-Bar frame. The vertical part of the T-Bar is adjustable for the individual given height for each person. The horizontal part of the T-Bar has a hinge to enable it to bend together when the pram is folded down this part of the T-Bar will also be adjustable to fit the individual width in between the handles of a pram.
Preferably the Umbrella T-bar Frame is made of metal or plastics materials, but it may instead be made of wood or a combination of these materials.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: FIGURE 1 shows a side view of the whole T-Bar frame; FIGFURE 2 shows a pair of two individual vice style clips mounted to one another ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
As shown in figure 1, the T-Bar 2 will hold an extendable bar 1 made adjustable using i a screw 7 with the hole for it bored in to the bar 2 the extendable bar 1 will be mounted with two vice style clips to hold on to an umbrella The bar 2 will be joined by a hinge 3 to the horizontal bar 4 which is also attached to bar 5 using screws to hold it in place while still allowing it to be made extendable where necessary.
As shown in figure 2 a vice style clip 10 can either be attached to the handles of a pram or either side of the horizontal ends of bar 2 and bar 5. To allow the whole T-Bar frame to pivot forwards and backwards. 9 is a part of the vice style clip that will allow it to tighten up once attached to both the T-Bar frame and the handles of a pram.
