Abstract
A craft has a chassis and a body demountable for maintenance, so that the body may be used for seating or sleeping while the chassis is being maintained. The body is released from the chassis and lifted on legs (not shown), enabling either one of the body or chassis to be slidable removed from the other, guide wheels on the body running on chassis members. The body is then lowered to the ground. The body may have hinged lids which provide a base. A contrafan bypass engine for providing hovering forces is disclosed, and engine inspection intervals are discussed.
Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1> ilp, 1. 02729 26thMay 2001 Demountable BOB CAT XYX PATENT BY BOB. E CATCHPOLE.
NUMBER :-GB0118007. 4.
A Referring to the drawing the BOB CAT. Comprises a wheeled Chassis and a body in the form of a coach releasably secured to the chassis by the example of location Bolts catch or simple means (NOT SHOWN) @ both ends of the body adjustable wheels Hydrolic (LEGS) are provided to the wheels.
In order to remove the body f om the chassis the legs are lowered to the ground, The means securing the to the chassis are released and the chassis is then withdrawn. from under the body (NOT SHOWN), As the chassis is moved in the direction of the arrow, . : ? The body slides on the chassis with the guide wheels, running along the main chassis member, until arrested by the caLchpole's catchment devise when its front ends can come to rest on the ground.
The body is then completely lowered on the ground as (NOT SHOWN) by collapsing the hydrolic legs.
In order to provide the base of the monoque frame the
body May be provided with hinged lids which can be opened - J As a ba bourd, and supported in a horizontal plane hy further adjustable legs A monoqu -frame can be erected over the open BOB CAT. so that I he open lids or (SLIDING DOORS) can provide seats/or beds therein.
To remount the body on the chassis the steps described above are carried out in the reverse sequence. L. S. R. E. C, B, W.

The BOBCAT XYX Contrafan Engine is a & 7000J b pound thrust turbofan Engine which weight approx lO () Olb pounds each engine of the Contrafan engine.
It was designed Lo provide quiet for the NEW Generation, of BOBCAT XYX fuel thrifty Contrafan capability quiet. medium Size and Larger BOBCAT. Capacity that will fly into the citizen 2000 and beyond in addition operators of the BOBCAT. Will Experience Low running cost Capacity, extensive modular construction and rugged design.
This Contrafan Engine is the Beneficiary of Code*e Keyes and BEACONEngieering many years ago of experience in designing advanced machinery. This single spool design provides the maximum flexibility in achieving optimized operation under a greater number of flights, conditions rear turbofan mounted on Engine makes possible low frontal area and a rear neat Vertical Mounted Nacelle.
The full Authority Electronic fuel control system, provides for more accurate Engine control by levers on the Contrafan Engine, and is Similer in design to the Industrial Burner fuel control system employed on the BEACONEngineering Turbofan Engine Family.
The moderate By-pas ratio 2 to 1 provide provides minimum Interference drag and up-lift Contibutes to low fuel consumption in the fuselage mounted configuration Typical of RESCUE Engines. A fully mixed exhaust system helps improve engine performance lowers the noise levels and provides a low infa-RED DIGITAL CAMERA and computer camera BOX for the BEACON National police Force Fruad Squad The Engine flow path commences @ the Twin inlet cowl from which Air is introduced into the Single stage turbofan.
Contrafan Engine is up thrust of A I R AND IS Balanced by down thrust of exhaust gases and of swival nozzle.
The two turning fans vanes modules. The turbine exhaust gases mix with the fan duct AIR FLOW and are exhausted through Et common nozzle, assuring optimized nozzle.
Performance and low noise.

The monoque and sterioque modulor contruction of the bob cat Contrafan ENgine permits finish Time elimination of fixed time between overhaul Concept of Engine maintanance and utilizes the on condition engine manitenance concept Specifically Capitalizing on the engines Modularity and borescope capability major Cost Benefits are delivered in Engine repairability in that only the module experiencing damage need be removed from the basic engine and repaired. Exchange maybe used for a reducing engine turn - around time. Interchangable. As field operating time increases, the frequency of inspection will decrease.
For Example, the initial HOT section inspection interval will be 600 hours.
However, The objective is for this interval to increace To 1500 Hours @ the time.
Cumulative operating Hours reach 500.000.
This same rationale will apply to the engine cold section turbofan, nozzle, module.
Engine Control System Spikal This Combination electronic and hydr-Mechanical fuel Control is full Authority Automatically Compensating for tempertures, and barometric variations and provides take-off thrust can @ maxinium. power lever possition Ljft-Off thrust can be maintained with only minor adjustment (HOVER) The control systems provides turbine temperature Limiting absence of surge during rapid power Lever, movements and incoparate over speed protection devices which decrease Flight hazard in the unlikely evrnt of engine mechnical malfunction, @ power Lever possitons be] ow Take-Off the Pilot sets his low impeller rotor speed in accordance, with flight manual curves and controls compensate for changing Flight conditions to hold Appoximately the % percentage of maximum thrust originally sellected Electronic component reliability is equivalent to hydro-mechanical control mode without noticeable effect. Finished.
