Abstract

A door-mounted support for exercise equipment, particularly equipment for use in boxing or martial arts, such as punchbags. The support is removably mounted to the top of a door by means of a U-shaped bracket 1 which is made from sheet steel. The inner surface of the bracket 1 has a rubber coating 3 to protect the surface of the door from damage. A hollow tube 2 welded to an outer face of the bracket 1 at an upward angle of 45 degrees provides a mount for the support arm 4, which may be telescopically extendible (5, fig 2). Exercise equipment can be suspended from a ring 6 attached to the distal end of the support arm 4.

Description

<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
Portable Exercise Station This invention relates to a portable exercise station for home and hall usage.
The need for this piece of equipment came about in my Personal Training in people's homes, and also in classes held in halls. Which involves boxing and Martial Arts equipment.
The only options available to me are brackets that have to be permanently bolted to the wall, which are not allowed in many halls and not suitable to use when visiting client's in at home The other option was a free standing frame work, which is far too big to transport around and timely to set up.
The portable exercise station is made up from sheet steel, cut and welded to fit over the top of a door.
With a hollow tubing welded at a 45 degree angle to the front of the exercise station, to hold adjustable steel bars to hang Boxing or Martial Arts equipment from.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which :- Fig 1 Shows side view of main component 1,2, and 3. A hole drifted through 2 for split pin 7, inner surface of 1 is covered in rubber 3 to protect door paint work.
Fig 2 Front view of main component 1 & 2 and attachment 4,5, 6 & 7. Attachments 6 permanently are fixed to 4 & 5. Rod attachment 5 component is drilled through shaft at intervals down length of shaft for height adjustment.
Fig 3 Main component in place, hanging over a door with component 4 & 6, with equipment attached.
Fig 4 Main component in place, hanging over a door with component 5,6 & 7 with equipment attached.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Portable exercise station Referring to the drawing the equipment usage can be fully adjustable by the change of components 4 & 5 and also with the use of split pin 7, through height adjustment hole in main tube 2 of main component 1.
It is necessary to change height of fixing ring 6 to use different Boxing/Martial Art equipment, such as a heavy punch bag or floor to ceiling ball.

Claims (1)

  1. Claims A portable exercise station 1 which slides over a door, with inner surface protection 3. Includes a welded structure in which steel rods 4 & 5 are inserted into tube 2, with a hanging ring 6 permanently attached to 4 & 5, in order to hang heavy equipment to.
    After use can be simply removed and stored.
