Abstract

A lid for use with a plastic tub or other container has a fold line allowing part of the lid to be lifted for access without removing the lid from the tub.

Description

FLEXIBLE TUB LID THIS LID IS SUITABLE FOR ALL TYPES OF PLASTIC CONTAINERS.
IT IS CONSTRUCTED TO FOLD UPWARDS IN THE MIDDLE WITH A HINGED MOVEMENT. THIS ALLOWS ACCESS TO CONTENTS FROM EITHER SIDE WITHOUT THE NECESSITY OF REMOVING THE LID.
INTERIOR STRUTS GIVE SUPPORT TO BOTH SECTIONS.
ALTHOUGH CENTRAL UPLIFT SEEMS THE MOST PRACTICAL, THE HINGE ACTION CAN BE PRODUCED IN ANY AREA OR AT ANY ANGLE WHETHER THE LID IS ROUND, SQUARE, OBLONG ETC.
THE BOTTOM DRAWING SHOWS THE LID ALMOST CLOSED; THE TOP DRAWING SHOWS THE BEGINNING OF UPLIFT.

Claims (1)

  1. CLAIMS FLEXIBLE TUB LID The lid is for use with all types of plastic containers to assist in usage without the removal of the lid. It is constructed to fold upwards either in the middle or at any other angle. It will assist to maintain freshness through less exposure to the air and without the need to remove the lid from its base. It is constructed to work with a hinged movement allowing access from either end of the container. Interior struts give support to both sections.
    Although central uplift seems the most practical, the hinge action can be produced in any area or at any angle whether the lid is round, square, oblong etc.
