Description

TWO WAY MULTI-PURPOSE ROLLER SCRAPER.
THIS INVENTION RELATES TO A TWO WAY MULTI-PURPOSE ROLLER SCRAPER.
Scraping off wallpaper, paint, glue, worktops ect, with the normal sizes and types of hand scrapers and with the roller scraper available today can often be hard work indeed and, in turn can damage the surface underneath, while other roller scrapers can help they are restricted in use and, still need other scrapers for different types of scraping requirements due to having only one blade and, the type and placement of there rollers/wheels therefore can only be used for one type of scraping job.
According to the present invention there is a two way multi-purpose roller scraper which is designed for all scraping requirements which will not damage the surface underneath and will apply steaming hot water to wallpaper ect, in order to make scraping much easier also, chemicals can be applied in the same mannor for easier scraping of other types of scraping.
The novelty and inventive steps of the two way multi-purpose roller scraper is the multiple sharp blades for all types of flat surface scraping jobs, will scrape both ways, forward and backwards, will apply hot water or chemicals to the surface requiring scraping, the perfect angle ajustment mechamism is in the roller brackets so that the blades and rollers can be firmly fitted and even with out the need to move them, the too ajustable rollers one large porous roller similar to a paint roller attached in the centre of the underside of the main body by an ajustable bracket, and one smaller roller with a rubber type compound covering attached to the back underside of the main body by an ajustable bracket which is used when scraping off paint stubbon wallpaper.
While the rollers are used for all types of smooth damage free scraping, they are also used on there own, the smaller roller is used as a wallpaper seam roller and, both rollers are used for smoothing down flat items which are being stuck down such as worktop coverings. The roller scraper is also used for sanding down after scraping off or at the same time by attaching the sanding block and sand paper to the underside of the fine angle ajustable foot/blade.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows in perspective, the roller scraper scraping useing the large fixed blade and reverse scraping useing the fine ajusting foot/blade: Figure 2 shows the roller scraper scraping, useing one of the multi purpose blades and scraping the opposite way; Figure 3 shows the roller scraper fully made up which shows the large scraping blade (21) for forward scraping and one of the multi purpose blades for backward scraping, sanding block (29) and sand paper (30) not shown, Figure 4 shows the roller scraper fully made up with an overhead view showing the multi purpose blades 22/23/24/25 faned out pivoting on the multi blade swivel sleave/spacer (15) with the multi blade locking pin or bolt (16) not in use, the larger than normal scraping blade (21) is shown with the very sharp scraping edges (32) also the large blade, the fine angle foot/blade, and the sanding block fixing bolts (12) together with the small roller bracket fixing bolts (17) and the large roller bracket fixing bolts (18). Figure 12 illustrates the small roller ajustable bracket (5) and showing the small bracket spindle holes (7) with the small roller bracket ajustable slots (27).
Figure 13 illustrates four multi purpose blades (22/23/24/25) with the multi blade locking pin or bolt holes (41) for pin or bolt (16) the multi blade bolt holes (42) for bolt (14) and pivoting sleave (15) and the multi blade housing, locking holes (43) for pin or bolt (16).
Figure 14 illustrates the fine angle ajustable foot and reverse scraper blade (11) with the main body (1) attaching ajustable slots (28) and the sanding block (29) attaching holes (45). for bolts (46), also shown is the blade sharp edge (32).
Figure 15 illustrates the sanding block (29) with its too ajusting foot (11) attaching holes (31) for bolts (46).
Figure 16 illustrates the sand paper (30) and showing one only sanding block attaching hole (44) for bolts (46).
Referring to the drawings, the two way multi-purpose roller scraper can be used in many different ways by useing the six multi purpose blades. the large porous roller, the small (rubber type compound covered) roller, and the fine angle ajusting foot/reverse scraping blade.
The roller comprises of a main body (1) and all other parts are attached to it by any suitable means and, the tool could have less blades or more added, the blades are used for all flat surface scraping by useing any one of the six blades available such as the larger than normal fixed wallpaper scraping blade (21) figure (9) which is sloted into the fixed slot housing (10) and fixed with bolts (12) there are four multi-purpose blades (22/23/24/25) which are housed in the multi blade housing (19) and locked in by a pin or bolt (16) when not in use, to use any one of the blades (22/23/24/25) the locking pin or bolt (16) is removed in order that any one of the multi-purpose blades can be pulled out on the pivot sleave (15) and locked in position by the pin or bolt (16), the fine ajusting foot and reverse scraping blade (11) the blade and the foot (11) are in one piece and are attached to the main body (1) by useing the same bolts as the fixed blade (21) which are extended bolts (12), this foot/blade (11) can be used on its own or for reverse scraping while scraping forward with the fixed blade (21), the fine ajusting foot/blade (ll) is also used for attaching the sanding block (29) and sand paper (30) by passing the bolts (46) through the sanding block (29) holes (31) bending the sand paper (30) over the block fitting the sand paper holes (44) over the bolts (46) fitting the bolts (46) from the under side through the foot/blade (11) holes (45) and fixing down with nuts, this sanding block is then used for perfect flat sanding down. Any one of the multi-purpose blades (22/23/24/25) are also used for forward and backwards scraping at the same time by useing a see-saw motion on the large porous roller (2) together with the large fixed blade (21) and the too handles (13) which are attached to the main body by bolts (14) one of bolts (14) are also used to lock in the multi-purpose blades by passing through the main body (1) and the blade pivoting sleave/spacer (15). Due to the perfect angle being obtained the blade edges (32) can be very sharp indeed and will not damage the surface underneath, the perfect angle is obtained by ajusting the ajustable brackets (4) or (5) by moving them back or forward on there slots (26) or (27) by loosing there holding bolts (18) or (17) for a fine angle ajustment on the large fixed blade (21) the fine angle ajustable foot/blade (11) is used.
While the rollers are used for smooth easier scraping the large porous roller (2) is also used for applying hot water to wallpaper before scraping and for applying chemicals safety to other types of surfaces before scraping off. The small (rubber type compound covered) roller (3) is used in conjunction with all of the multi-purpose blades (22/23/24/25) for smooth damage free scraping it is also used in its own right as a superb seam roller for wallpaper seams and for any seams which need even pressing down, the large roller is also used for pressing down any flat surface which is being glued down such as worktops.
