Abstract

The body of a cufflink receives an exchangeable and disposable screw fitting bottle (Fig 4) containing a fragrance such as cologne. The bottle is of a soft material which can be squeezed to release the fragrance, and has a non-replaceable top (Fig 3a) which is removed before use.

Description

CUFFLINK REFRESHERS The Description The product that I have designed are cufflinks that hold a small quantity of cologne.

The idea of this invention is an added feature to an ordinary set of cufflinks that are made and adapted to hold a little disposable bottle of cologne. The concept actually combines two popular fashion categories into one simple item. The cufflink could be fabricated with a wide range of styles for the face to suit the individual wearer's preference. However, the function of this jewellery item would be expanded such that it not only secures the cuffs of a gentleman's shirt but it also includes a means whereby he could access a spray of cologne at any time to maintain a fresh appealing scent.

The cologne would be held in small reasonably soft disposable bottles which are screwed into the cufflinks, they can then be unscrewed and used when desired.

The top of the bottle has a small plastic top which can be twisted off to then release the fragrance. However once the top of the bottle has been removed it can not be replaced.

The bottles are soft enough to squeeze and once squeezed they release a small quantity of cologne. Once the little bottle is empty it can then be thrown away and replaced with another bottle and if desired a different fragrance. The cufflink itself can be bought with one or two disposable bottles. The bottles can then be purchased in refill packs of about five pairs which can also have a variety of different fragrances. (See drawings) This idea is fairly simple to make and requires minimal equipment to manufacture.

However the response could be extremely substantial. The product offers a broad appeal and suggests that it should be able to generate interest among a wide segment of the consuming public.

This idea combines two common entities for men. Cufflinks as well as cologne are frequently worn so why not combine the two, allowing men to not only have a fashionable cufflink but to also have a added and convenient extra.

Drawing Descriptions Figure 1 This is just a simple cufflink, the drawing shows that the bottle has not been screwed on yet and gives an idea of what it would look like if a bottle is not inserted. The cufflink can still be used as normal and could have a small design for a fashionable purpose The design on the cufflink is important as the gentleman may have used the cologne and thrown the bottle away then realised that he does not have any refills.

Figure 2 This is a birds eye view of the cufflink this is the area where a design can be added The drawing shows that the cufflink IS adaptable for a bottle to be screwed in.

Figure 3 This shows the cufflink completed it has the bottle of cologne screwed on and looks fashionable as well as having the hidden extra of the fragrance. The fragrance can be accessed by twisting off the plastic cap (This is represented as a black diamond shape In the drawings, Figure 3a). The actual bottle can be In various colours with different patterns on them to attract interest.

Figure 3a This figure shows the black diamond shape to be the cap of the bottle. This cap is screwed off to allow the release of the fragrance. Once the fragrance has been used the bottle can no longer be used and has to be replaced.

Figure 4 This final drawing shows the bottle which contains the cologne and can be bought in refill packs. The drawing shows how the bottle will look once removed. Each of these bottles are made from soft plastic which can be easily squeezed and have various different fragrances which generates interest and gives the user a wide variety of choice.

Claims

Claims 1) A cufflink including a bottle that contains cologne, where the bottle is screwed on and can be removed, disposed of and replaced once the cologne has been used.
2) A bottle as described in claim 1 where the plastic is adapted to screw in to the cufflink.
3) The bottle as described in claims 1 and 2 which holds cologne has a removable lid to access the fragrance.
