Abstract

The cover includes a high friction flexible material 1 with a bias binding 2 attached to the outer edge through which runs a draw string 3. The draw string 3 permits the seat cover to fit more closely to the motorcycle seat 5 and also acts as a fastening once tied.

Description

Motorcycle Seat Cover The invention relates to a seat cover for motorcycles which may be easily attached to various motorcycle seats.
The current design of existing motorcycle seats have the disadvantage of when the motorcycle is under acceleration, breaking, or cornering, the pillion passengers purchase on the seat is at times not adequate and therefore makes the pillion passenger feel at unease and needing to continually adjust their seating position, whilst travelling, especially when the pillion is wearing leathers.
The object of the invention is to increase the purchase between the passenger and the seat, thus improving the passengers ride quality.
The invention provides an easily fitted and removed seat cover made from a high friction flexible material of known design. It is designed with a draw string which is threaded through bias binding of known design.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: FIGURE 1. Shows a plan view of the whole motorcycle seat cover.
FIGURE 2. Shows the motorcycle seat cover in place on a motor cycle seat in plan view covering the passenger section.
FIGURE 3. Shows a view of the seat cover fitted to a motorcycle seat in a side angle projection, covering the passenger section.
FIGURE 4. Show a view of the seat cover fitted to a motorcycle seat in plan section from the underneath of the motorcycle seat.
Items 5 and 6 do not constitute part of the invention and are included for illustration purposes only, As shown in figure 1, the seat cover comprises of a high friction flexible material 1, which forms the main part. A bias binding 2, which is attached to the flexible material by cotton stitching 4. The cover, once in position over the motorcycle seat 5, is then fastened by means of the drawstring 3, to the underside of the motorcycle seat 5, and tied. The draw string 3, runs through the bias binding 2 as shown in figure 4.
Some motorcycle seats 5, have grab straps 6, underneath which the seat cover can be tucked if preferred.

Claims (2)

  1. CLAIMS 1. A motorcycle seat cover of high friction flexible material with bias binding and a draw string to allow close fitting of the seat cover to a motorcycle seat.
  2. 2. A motorcycle seat cover as claimed in 1 allows the use of the draw string to be tightened to accommodate close fit to various motorcycle seats.
