T his invention relates to a transient or permanently fixed periscopic water tight activated flood defense protection barrier and interlinking flood management system for towns city's embankments flood planes railway embankments/coastal protection and homes
My invention therefore is a brand new concept and inventive idea to which I as the inventor claim and reserve all rights to this invention shown in the accompanyed drawings and claims
The flood barrier periscopic units and fitments, are made from any known or unknown material to man from a combination of materials upvc/glass/plastic /wood/steel/iron/metal concrete/or any crushed and reconstituted rubber Ilaytex covering brick or otherwise, the units will try to use the force of nature which will operate the system, the flood barriers periscopic multi height/multi width barriers can be mobile, alternatively fixed permanently to any foundation, laid or fixed to any interconnecting support base along with a multiple of sizes and linking floors positioned either behind or atop the expanded main structuren of the water barrier to allow a linking of extra work space or voids to be added as observation posts or extra office space or linked to any building either to the rear or even to the front or sides of the flood barrier even underground buildings, the flood barrier could be sited permanently or temporily without the need for the lower retractable wheels provided on the body to the four comer extremities and central extremities, with self leveling legs/feet alternatively situated to the extremities of the base, which can be removed if required
The flood barrier operates fully when the connecting pipeworks fitted within the
flood barrier at ground level and above are in use in conjunction with the internal . * 0 #....................... and underground special y invented service pipes come into operation wherby removing vast quantities of water away from any given points above ground or below ground using water pumps supplied both internal and extemaly to the barrier redirecting and pumping waters to any given point, the underground system can be placed at different levels resting on clay base or any other base, positioned at
varying depths under ground in different formations of overlaping each other, the management system operates by sucking water into the plurity of interconecting pipeworks through multi directional connectors which are subject to filters and pumps at extremeties of interconecting pipes 2nd to this is the design of the pipes which have a multiple section of holes either through the bottoms or tops or sides when sited under ground allowing water ingress into the pipeworks from one pipe to another altemativly the suction arms suck water into the pipes/altematively at ground level water penetration comes through grid system flowing through special grid holes then leaking through holes in bottom of special pipe then dropping through holes at 2nd level below ground into special figure of eight shaped massive pipe overflow system transporting underground field or marsh water to any destination required, operating even when there are no floods keeping marsh land dry or habitable both flood barrier and service pipeworks can operate independently of each other, the flood barriers are allso capable of storing waters when positioned underground with flanking water membranes to the base level, thus acting as underground resivours for storing waters below and above ground, at differing locations,
The units are very mobile easily transportable to any designated area requested sited on inventive tracking system if required laid on difficult terrain same as horizontal railway lines which could be sited along river banks/around towns/around city's/ flood planes along roads fixed to pavements also to front of houses/shops/along motorways/along railway tracks along coastlines/even sited on beaches or under the sea to stop coastal erosion also around flood planes fixed permanently or mobile the initial height being from more than four foot to various heights and widths being telescopic one still has the open views ahead of them until unit is activated into operation mode by its sensors moving automatically in a vertical direction once the threat of flood waters reaches various safeguards built in to the barrier at different levels, when waters start to subside the barrier automatically lowers itself to its stand down position also due to its construction, the unit can still continue to operate when no floods are imminent by pumping water from underground to various destinations also the units underground can incorporate service pipes from gas to electricity telephone cables easy access no digging up roads
Flood barriers are used generally to control river flow from point a to point z in the event of side ways control of waterways and rivers there is only the embankments to cope with rising river levels or sandbags
According to the present invention there is provided special a semi automated telescopic flood defence barrier system incorporating flood management system of special underground or above ground service pipes and interlinking fixtures and fittings along with support columns and base fixings and gutter rype ground level boxes all having a plurity of interconecting uses and designs
The semi automated self operating periscopic flood defense barrier which comprises a wheeled chassis upon which the form of especial telescopic box within a plurality of folding telescopic boxes having more than one telescopic box within the base box which are permanently secured to each other by way of a means for partial releasable securing the bodys to each other the body being adapted to enable the water barriers to move up and down in a vertical direction allowing for complete system to operate in a vertical direction by meansof activation by the ingress of water from the outside entering through the 1st level pressure chambers then through water chamber inlet openers allowing internal chambers to flood with water which then starts to activate the ist level of the barriers defense mechanism to come into operation mode by way of barrier moving in a vertical direction by way of pressure activation helped also by way of more than one inflated horizontal balloon type permanent fixtures stretching full length of unit secured to each panel just above water chamber inlet holes the units the external inflated balloon type fixturefixed by a fixing band with a means of fixing also is activated by water sensors and external flood waters forcing flood panels to operate in line with the water height incorporated also at both ends of unit a chamber in base of unit are two opposing hydraulic rams in case of emergency's to push bottom of battier in a vertical manner if needed either operated manually by way of hand lever from rear of chamber or by electricity supplied by solar panel positioned to top roof of units, with a means of fixing which also operates a plurality of lights to the front and rear of the barrier which are fitted to the top unit only, incorporated into each panel is a see through seal tight viewing panel allowing clear viewing through from front to rear, the base panel has a sliding door incorporated within its center if required to allow management of water
At ground level to the front of the body's extremities are positioned pressure chamber inlets for allowing water ingress, between them we have external pipe connectors linking directly to and through the barrier to external connectors to the rear which have blank ends or active connectors, the secondary external pipe connectors above the pressure chambers are linked directly to the the major service pipe to the rear of the flood barrier running horizontal to both ends extremities allowing flood barriers linking into each other forming a connection of pipe works to redirect water, the water pump is in the housing above the major service pipe, above the water pumps are the service housing covers
Sitting adjacent to the service pipe is the housing for the hydraulic lifter,
Covering the foremost ends of the flood barriers sides is the covering linking unit with a means of fixing the to the bottom of the unit to the top using connecting slugs which also line up the barriers to each other we also have the self deflating retractable wheels and support stands, the wheels also fit intocurved support railway type tracks which can allso move in a vertical plane at given points the units capable being transient or fixed permanantly with interconecting foundations to suit the terrain with changeable interconecting section s within the unit and to base of the unit in conjunction with interconecting ground level and underground network of soak away or flood management of interconecting pipeworks both flood barrier and sevice pipes capable of operating independantly of each other or at any distance away from each other even forming underground resevoirs where needed

The flood waters firstly enter the presure chambers 12 situated at both ends of the barrier situated to the front panel 12 then the water creeps up to the multi pipe 13 conectors then creaping up until the water inlet openers 11 start to fill which then starts to cause the water to drop down further into the internal water chambers causing a slight rise of the first barrier 9 when the water gets underneath the bouancy chambers 9 the panels outside the main base panel 9 the panels start to rise above the level of the waters in corresponding order the lower unit activated first, which travels in a vertical direction until the 83 guidance arms stop the panel from rising to far wherby the 2 nd panel likewise does the same until the furthest point has been reached by the rising telescopicly operated panels inside the body of the flood barrier 0 should an emergency develop then the inflating system 2 inflates even further keeping the flood water at bay, using allso stored electricity to operate the lights 24 when dark while the rising water keeps on rising the water pump 31 comes into operation drawing water through the pipework 13 positioned to the front of the barriers 13 depositing water into one or more pipes mainly the service pipe 14 to the rear of barrier 0 and any other pipes supplied or connected to the fittings even the underground pipeworks as shown 13 36 37 therby directing the waters to a different location some miles away, should the system 38 be connected to any sewerage system this will allso be directed away from point x should the need arise for the kerb box guttering 99 100 101 to be used this allso sits in any gutter and helps remove excess waters from point x should the councils own system not be able to cope with the floods both mains pipes 14 and guttering99 100 101 working in union together through interconecting ground and submersable pipe systems 13 14 36 37 38 the back of the flood banier allso has inter conecting service housings to accomadate all mains services and computer console stations along with a generator console system with a plurity of pump housings with electrical fuse switch box all connected to different consoles 50 51 52 the system can be used under flood planes to manage water levels all so on airport runways to heat and melt the snows to all major airports, incorporated within the system are the street barriers as in 1 which are all multi adaptable to each other fixtures and fittings

Box like body in the form of a periscope action having a internal external catchment means of cooperable with each box to allow vertical movement to take place inside or alongside each othermeans of having a plurity of internal boxes positioned inside each others open void with a floating section positioned to the front of each unit alternativly with a plurity of floating box like bodys positioned behind each other incorporating in a system of water presure controlled free floating movement within the main body activated by outside rising waters the main box like body which is either in situ in any position at ground level or free standing mobile or sited at any vocal point as required the structures main box like body supported at ground level by interlinking rolling roll, kerb side protection cover interlinking gutter box section, multi fitting base plynths multi functional guidance tracks along with the interconecting underground or above ground water pipe conectors in line with the multi positional base support which ultimatly gives support to the whole systems stability
The internal interlinking bodys allowing internal traveling within a set field in a vertical movement upwards and then in a downwards gravitational decending manner back to original position once external waters start to subside running out freely from the lower access chambers positioned at furthest comers at low leval, to using the plurity of water activated presure access chambers to the front of the base units above the internal external pipe conectors running through the front to the rear of the units allso situated at ground level to the outer peripials of the main support body, once bridged the defence system comes into operation which increases height of the barriers to the required height one section at a time, the water levels enables the whole system to operate in conjunction with each other with in the system of pressure activation there are allso a plurity of rams which will operate in any given emergency if required which will give lift to the system, or alternatively cause units to descend the periscopic semi automatic multi width and multi height movable sections positioned either behind each other with space inbetween each body to allow movement are manipulated into action by the ingress of external water s entering the bodys of the units flood chambers again causing the flood barrier defence systems to operate, the rising barrier fits over any kerb which allso has incorporated into the system a box like section sitting atop the towns street gutters which allso has a secondary internal gutter either redirecting the flood waters to another destination using the internal pumps or in conjunction with any underground or above ground escape pipes or service pipes the unit works in full cooperation with each other or any existing water management system this system allso incorporates a opening door if required which could be fixed permanently as this and all units come in variouse sizes and colours to suit the terrain or towns or citys they may be positioned in blending in with any background ideal along main roads as units height start at five foot onwards fixed in any position to a any kerb especialy for protecting towns villages citys and homes and busineses in conjunction with embankments fields and all flood defences as required incorporating allso the underground pipeworksl3 30 31 50 51 connected to the flood barrier 0 either directly or at any given distance connected by variouse intrconecting underground and surface pipes collecting and redirecting surface waters or underground waters to any other given location by means of variouse water suction pumps 20 set at variouse locations in line with the flood barrier or at any ground surface point designated for diverting overflowing streams and rivers away from houses towns and citys the flood barrier could allso be sited along airoplane runways as in two columns of interfacing barriers a certain distance apart with underground interlinking pipes and a means of interconecting electric cables interjoining together to melt snow on the runways allso diverting all accumalating rain of the runways down into the flud management system eiyher into the interconecting surface drains or down into the managment removal system
The periscopic multi story flood barrier 0 according to the present invention comprises individual height structures 4 operating in the manner of a periscopic lift , operated to each desired level way of either hydrolic lifter or water presure entering different chambers within the base structure 11 causing the first external floating chamber 9 to move in a vertical direction therby the water activated lifting system 9 which starts to operate immediately by way of pressurised water independantly (float) up on the external waters lifting allso the first or 2nd panel above the flood waters to the first/second/third/or multi levels reaching the height according to external water heights incorporated within the top section of the barrier is an emergency inflating balloon
2 system which comes into operation in case of dire emergencys should the water sensors 8 become activated according to weather conditions then the unit will automaticaly operate by way of inflating giving extra flood protection height situated directly to top of emergency unit is a movable solar panel 1 which feeds the emergency lighting 24 incorporated onto rear and front of units
