Abstract

A vehicle cover, secured onto the roof of a vehicle, comprises hinged panels adapted for unfolding from the top of the vehicle. The apparatus may be deployed as a garage, shed or a variety of containers and platforms for passengers.

Description

THE TRANSPORTABLE TRANSMUTABLE VEHICLE SECURITY COVER THIS INVENTION RELATES TO THE PROTECTION OF VEHICLES AGAINST THEFT, THEFT OF ITS PARTS, THEFT OF VALUABLES FROM INSIDE, VANDALISM AND SOME WEATHER CONDITIONS, (ICE, SNOW ETC.).
MANY VEHICLE OWNERS DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY OR THE SPACE TO BUILD A GARAGE. ALSO A GARAGE CANNOT BE TRANSPORTED WITH THE VEHICLE.
THE TTVSC CAN GO ANYWHERE WITH THE VEHICLE AND CAN ALSO BE USED FOR OTHER FUNCTIONS.
THE TTVSC CONSISTS OF A METAL COVER MADE UP OF FOLDABLE HINGED SECTIONS. THE METAL, (GALVANISED STEEL WOULD BE SUIT ABLE). HAS A THICKNESS DESIGNED FOR ADEQUATE SECURITY THOUGH ABOUT 1MM IS PROBABLY GOOD ENOUGH.
THE TTVSC IS CONFIGURED EITHER TO BE BOLTED ONTO THE ROOF OF A VEHICLE, (NORMALLY A CAR, ESTATE OR VAN), OR TO BE FIXED LIKE A ROOF RACK IT CAN BE FOLDED FLAT ON THE ROOF WHEN NOT IN USE, FOLDED OUT COMPLETELY AROUND THE CAR AND PADLOCKED, OR IT CAN BE FOLDED TO PROVIDE DIFFERENT SIZED STRUCTURES ON THE ROOF. THESE STRUCTURES OR ENCLOSED SPACES CAN EITHER BE USED TO CARRY GOODS OR FOR EXTRA PASSENGER ACCOMMODATION.
BY INSTALLING ADJUSTABLE SEATS WHICH CAN BE CONVERTED INTO LOUNGERS OR BEDS THE TTVSC CAN ALSO FUNCTION AS A SUN. LOUNGER IN GOOD WEATHER FOR THE PASSENGERS AND AS A SIGHT. SEEING PLATFORM ON HOLIDAY ETC. IT CAN ALSO BE USED AS A SECURE METAL"TENT"FOR SLEEPING OR AS A PORTABLE ROOM ON OR OFF THE VEHICLE.
ANOTHER VARIATION IS TO ALLOW THE COVER TO BE EXTENDED AROUND THE VEHICLE TO PROVIDE A SMALL GARAGE.
IF NOT REQUIRED ON, SAY. A CAR IT COULD ALSO BE USED AS A GARDEN SHED OR TRANSFERRED ONTO ANOTHER VEHICLE.
WHEN FOLDED FLAT ON THE ROOF, A SUITABLE LADDER ATTACHMENT WILL ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO BE EMPLOYED AS A MOBILE BUIDING PLATFORM FOR WORK ON A HOUSE ETC.
FOLDABLE METAL BOXES CAN BE FIXED AROUND THE WHEELS TO PROTECT AGAINST VANDALISM IF NECESSARY. THE BOXES CAN BE HELD IN PLACE BY DRIVING THE VEHICLE ONTO THE BASE OF THE BOXES. THE BOXES COULD ALSO BE DESIGNED TO ACT AS WHEEL RAMPS OR TO STORE TOOLS ETC.
FOR AESTHETIC EFFECTS WHEN BEING USED TO CARRY EXTRA PASSENGERS THE TTVSC CAN BE ENCLOSED WITH A RUBBER COVER. THIS WOULD HELP TO KEEP IT WARMER IN COLD WEATHER. THE RUBBER COVER COULD ITSELF BE DESIGNED TO BE USED AS A DINGY OR PADDLING POOL.
FIGURE 1 ILLUSTRATES THE TTVSC FITTED OVER A CAR. THE METAL COVER (10) HAS HINGES (11) TO FOLD SECTIONS OF THE COVER INTO ITS DIFFERENT FORMS.
THE PADLOCK POSITIONS (12) AND FOLDABLE WHEEL BOXES ARE SHOWN.
FIGURE 2 DEPICTS THE TTVSC IN ITS FORM AS A PASSENGER CARRIER (14).

Claims (1)

  1. (1) A TTVSC COMPRISING OF ADJOINING MULTI-SECTJONS OF FOLDABLE HINGED PANELS. MEANS FOR RELEASING THE PANELS. THE COVER ADAPTED TO BE UNFOLDED AND RELEASED FROM THE TOP OF THE VEHICLE.
    (2) A ITVSC ACCORDING TO CLAIM ! WHEREIN-THEPANELS ARE CONSTRUCTED WITH LIGHT BUT STRONG MATERIAL, INCLUDING METAL AND COMPOSITE.
    (3) A TTVSC ACCORDING TO PRECEDING CLAIMS WHEREIN THE PANELS HAVE 'RMCFT-i-I t S THICKNESS DESIGNED FOR ADEQUATE SECURITY TYPICALLY RANGING 1MM TO 10MM.
    (4) A TTVSC ACCORDING TO PRECEDING CLAIMS WHEREIN THE PANELLED COVER IS CONFIGURED TO BE FIXED WITH EASILY RELEASEABLE BOLTS ONTO THE VEHICLE ROOF OR FIXED SIMI ARLY TO A ROOF RAC AND CAPABLE OP SAFE TRANSPORTATION WITH THE VEHICLE.
    (5) A TTVSC ACCORDING TO PRECEDING CLAIMS WHEREIN THE PANELS ARE CONFIGURED TO BE FOLDED FLAT ONTO THE VEHICLE ROOF WHEN NOT IN USE, FOLDED OUT COMPLETELY AROUND THE VEHICLE OR FOLDED TO FORM DIFFERENT A t RR'F. TC-8 SIZED STRUCTURES AND ASSOCIATED ENCLOSED SPACES FOR THE CARRIAGE OF GOODS, EXTRA PASSENGERS, PASSENGER LOUNGER/SLEEPING ACCOMMODATION, SIGHT-SEEING PLATFORM, MOBILE BUILDING PLATFORM, (WITH ADDITIONAL LADDER EXTENSION) AND ELEVATED AERIAL POSmON.
    (6) A TTVSC ACCORDING TO PRECEDING CLAIMS WHEREIN THE TTVSC IS ADAPTED SUCH THAT IT CAN BE EASILY REMOVED TO BE TEANSFERED TO ANOTHER VEHICLE, USED AS A SECURE"TENT"FOR. SLEEPING ACCOMODATION.. AS A PORTABLE ROOM ON OR OFF THE VEHICLE, AS A SMALL GARAGE OR AS A SHED.
