Abstract

A device for winding a strap or belt comprises a hub A, Drawing 1, a winding handle C,D secured at one end of the hub, means on the hub, eg pin B, for attaching the end of a strap or belt thereto, a plate F, Drawing 5, and means on the plate, eg a boss G, for releasably engaging the other end of the hub, the arrangement being such that with the other end of the hub engaging the plate, and a strap or belt attached to the attaching means, turning of the handle winds the strap or belt into a coil around the hub. The hub and plate may then be separated and the coiled strap or belt removed from the hub. The strap or belt may pass between brushes H on the plate F to clean it as it is wound.

Description

Strap and belt winding nandle In recent years a greater dependence nas been put onthe use of straps or belts for securing loads on vehicles and trailers. These straps vary in le ngth and at present to roll them up for storage must be done by nand, consider then the amount of time spent rolling up for storage the fifteen or twenty straps that may be used on some loads and perhaps not in the most clement of weather or clean conditions.
According to trie present invention there is provided a handle which used in conjuction with a mating plate will wipe and wind a belt or strap into a suitable compact size for storage and on completion of winding is easily removed from the rolled strap or belt.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with referance to the accompanying drawings in which: ) rawing I snows front view of the handle.

Drawing 4 shows a front view of the mating plate.
Drawing 5 shows a side view of the mating plate.
Part items are: A Locating shaft B Belt locking pin C Handle body D Operation-handle E Belt or strap F Mating plate G Locating boss H Brushes Reffering to drawing 3, the end of the unrolled strap is attached to the handle in the manner shown. The locating shaft A is then mated with mating plate F ensuring the strap is drawn through brushes H. The handle is then rotated using item D untill the strap is fully rolled. The handle with the rolled strap is withdrawn from the mating plate, the handle is removed from the rolled strap by tapping on a horizontal surface, and can then be safely stored.

Claims (1)

  1. CLAIMS A handle in conjunction with a matin plate which when rotated will roll a strap or belt into a compact roll.
    A handle with an anchor as an integral part A handle with an anchor which is easily extricated from the roll of strap or belt.
