Nets.-The cod-end of a trawl net is divided by a substantially Y-shaped piece of netting b into an upper compartment c which receives the fish and a lower and smaller compartment d into which foreign matter, such as stones, passes; the foreign matter escapes by an opening d' at the rear. One, two, or more pieces of netting may be applied to the net within the mouth of the lower compartment to form a funnel-like entrance thereto.
