Abstract

A brake disc 132 for a bicycle is integrally connected by spokes 131 to a second face plate 13 of a wheel hub assembly 10 which also comprises a tubular spindle 11 to which a first face plate 12 and the second face plate are secured, and a spindle (22, Fig.3) which passes through the tubular spindle. The integrally formed second face plate 13, ribs 131 and brake disc 132 may be formed by punching.

Description

<Desc/Clms Page number 1> NAVE OF A DISK TYPE BRAKE OF A BICYCLE The present invention relates to a nave of a disk type brake of a bicycle which is integrally formed so as to save the costs of connector and assembly. Thus, the wheels can be braked substantially.
In the prior art brake of a bicycle, other than using a braking line to control the brake plate to tightly clamp the metal frame of the wheel, recently, disk type brakes are usually used. In the disk type brake, the disk type brake has a disk appended to one end of the nave (as shown in Fig. 1), therefore, the nave must be installed with a connector which therefore is a component of the disk type brake. In the prior art, the nave and connector are integrally formed. Then the disk is locked to the connector by a plurality of studs. In general, six to eight connectors serve in this object. It needs much time and works in assembly. When the locking force is insufficient, the disk will tilt so that the barking operation is not exact so as to slide away. Moreover, the manufacturing time is long and the cost is therefore increased.
Consequently, there is an eager demand for a novel nave of a disk type brake of a bicycle is integrally formed so as to save the costs of connector and assembly.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Thus, the wheels can be braked substantially. Accordingly, the primary object of the present invention is to provide a nave of a disk type brake of a bicycle which is integrally formed so as to save the costs of connector and assembly. Thus, the wheels can be braked substantially.
A nave of a disk type brake of a bicycle is disclosed. In a nave 10, two ends of the tubular spindle 11 are installed with a first face plate 12 and a second face plate 13. The first face plate 12 and second face plate 13 can be firmly secured to the two ends of the spindle 11 by rods so as to be formed as an integrally body. A plurality of radiating wire holes 121 are installed in the first face plate 12, which are arranged circularly and spaced with an equal distance. The radiating wire holes 121 serve to be passed by the radiating wires 21 of the wheel frame 20. One side of the first face plate 12 has an enclosing portion 122 for enhancing the stability of the first face plate 12 secured to the axial rod 11. The periphery of the second face plate 13 is formed with a plurality of wheel ribs 131 extending outward and opaquely. The wheel rib 131 has an end being integrally connected to the wheel rim 132. Therefore, the second face plate 13 and the ribs 131. are integrally formed with

the wheel rim 132. In the present invention, the disk of the brake and face plate are formed integrally, and thus the costs of connector between the brake disk and the nave are saved so that only the cost of single element is necessary. In the present invention, the nave is integrally formed. Braking operation is performed in the disk type brake, the brake disk is locked and meanwhile the axial rod is controlled so that the wheels are stopped immediately.
The various objects and advantages of the present invention will be more readily understood from the following detailed description when reading in conjunction with the appended drawing.
The present invention will now be described by way of example with reference of the annexed drawings, in which: Fig. I is a perspective view showing the assembly of the prior art nave, connector and brake disk.
Fig. 2 is an exploded perspective view of the present invention.
Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the present invention. Fig. 4 is a plane view of the present invention. Fig. 5 shows the use of the present invention with a frame.
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
Referring to the various drawings attached herewith, a detailed description of the structural features of "NAVE OF A DISK TYPE BRAKE OF A BICYCLE" of the present invention is as follows: With reference to Figs. 2 to 5, a nave of a disk type brake of a bicycle of the present invention is illustrated. The structure of the nave 10 will be described in the following.
In the nave 10, two ends of the tubular spindle 1 1 are installed with a first face plate 12 and a second face plate 13. Therefore, the second
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
face plate 13 and the ribs 131 are integrally formed with the wheel rim 132. Near the periphery of the wheel rim 132 is installed with a plurality of brake holes 133 circularly arranged with an equal space for braking by the disk type brake. The center of the second face plate 13 is formed with a through hole 134 for be passed through by the spindle 22. A plurality of radiating wire holes 135 circularly arranged with an equal space are formed on the through hole 134. The radiating wire holes 135 serve for being passed and fixed by the wires 21. One side of the second face plate 13 is installed with an enclosing portion 136 for enhancing the stability of the second face plate 13 to be steadily secured to the axial rod 11.
The axial rod 1 1 of the nave in the present invention passes through the spindle 22. Two ends of the axial rod are covered with covers 23. Then, a nut 24 serves to lock the face plate 10 to the spindle 22. Therefore, the first face plate 10 of the present invention is fixed to the wheel frame 20 by the spindle 22. Since in the present invention, the prior art disk of a brake and the nave are improved, the second face plate 13, wheel ribs 131 and wheel rim 132 have a large area and are integrally formed. Therefore, the present invention has the following advantages:
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
1. In the present invention, the disk of the brake and face plate are formed integrally, and thus the costs of connector between the brake disk and the nave are saved so that only the cost of single element is necessary.
2. In the prior art, the brake disk is locked to a nave through connectors and studs, as the force for locking is not uniform, the brake disk will be tilt so that the action of braking is not exactly performed and the wheels possible slide. While, in the present invention, the naves are integrally formed. Braking operation is performed in the disk type brake, the brake disk is locked and meanwhile the axial rod is controlled so that the wheels are stopped immediately.
Although the present invention has been described with reference to the preferred embodiments, it will be understood that the invention is not limited to the details described thereof. Various substitutions and modifications have been suggested in the foregoing description, and others will occur to those of ordinary skill in the art. Therefore, a11 such substitutions and modifications are intended to be embraced within the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
