Abstract
A means of identifying luggage or property uses a tag or label displaying a unique serial number and website address. The device is fixed to the luggage or property. If lost the finder can log on to the website, input the serial number and report the item found. Authorised persons, such as airlines and lost property agencies are also able to enter serial numbers and their password to display the owners full details.

Global Lugaaae Locator This invention relates to a system for identifying luggage or other property using a unique serial number traceable via a computer database accessible world-wide via the Internet.
For security reasons it is not advisable to openly display personal identification information on items of luggage other property. Without personal information lost luggage and belongings cannot be traced to their rightful owners.
This invention provides a way of identifying luggage or other items with a unique serial number which is attached to the item of luggage allowing the item to be traced back to the owner through a Internet database.
The customers personal information is entered into a computer database and he is issued with a serial number unique to that individual customer. This number is then attached to the luggage or item. Should the luggage be lost the customer can log onto a web site and report the item as lost. The finder of the item can log onto the web site and input the unique serial number and the loser of the item can be reunited with the luggage. The system has the advantage of being accessible world-wide day and night via the Internet, thus eliminating costly international phone calls and faxes.

- CLAIMS 1. A device displaying a unique serial number and website address enabling the device to be traced via the aforementioned website by matching of the serial number to stored data accessible via the website.
