Abstract

A drinks can (2) preferably of aluminium or transparent plastics material is shaped to simulate a pint glass and has a top removable by means of a perforated tear strip (1) to allow drinking of the contents. A conventional opening means (3) may also be provided.

Description

2364292 Pint Can Opening System.
This invention relates to a Pint Can opening System.
The common can, that is the present drink storage unit sold across the world is Background) a relatively simple method of selling soft and Alcoholic drinks. The present can has remained much the same shape and texture over the years which can be improved on when talking of Alcoholic beverages.
The invention provides a can which is in the shape of a Pint sized glass found in (Ess Tech public houses. The can will be transparent in appearance, although optional the features) the transparency will give the Pint can a more realistic look, the can will then have two ways of opening, either by the normal pull back tab method or by the new system which will be in the form of a raised tab at the top of the can at the side. The system will be so that the can will have a narrow perforated strip all around the very top of the Pint can, the tab when pulled will then be able to be pulled all around the perforated stripjaking the top of the can off the main body of the can thus giving the impression of drinking from a pint glass. The can will ideally made of Aluminium but can be made of plastic if need be to adopt the transparent effect.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example (Example) with reference to the accompanying drawing in which Fig I A front view of the Pint can illustrating the main look of the can, Fig 2 Illustrates the top view showing the I't opening system which is the new opening system. This view will also show the normal opening system.
Referring to the drawing the Pint can is made up as a whole to begin with until the new opening system has been adopted 1.
In order to adopt the new opening system 1, shown in Fig I and 2. The tab which is raised at the top of the can on the side will be pulled along the perforation to leave an open top pint shaped transparent container to drink from. The normal opening system 3 can also be seen in Fig I and 2, the simple pull back and down tab. The option of transparency of the can 2 is noted in Figures 1.

Claims (3)

Claims
1. The Pint can opening system will comprise of a raised tab at the top of the can on its side. The tab will be able to be pulled around a perforated stripjaking the top of the can off the main body of the can.
2. The Pint can itself as claimed in claim I will be in the shape of a Pint glass.
3. The Pint can as claimed in claim I and 2 will ideally be transparent in appearance inorder to give the consumer maximum effect.
