Abstract

A substantially rigid case for a credit card or similar item, eg a CD ROM, has an inwardly directed dimple which in use engages the card and frictionally retains it within the case. The case may consist of two injection moulded plastics halves, Figs 1 and 2, ultrasonically welded together.

Description

1 2364237 Card Protector The invention relates to a relatively rigid case
container, into which a single object with the approximate size of a credit card can be inserted and held there within, protected from exposure and damage.
There have been a number of devices which hold multiple cards and protect from damage caused by carrying credit card size objects without protection, but this invention is aimed at the individual who simply wishes to carry an individual card or other similar size object (e.g. CD ROM), and protect it from wear and tear such as scuffing or bending, such damage can render the card placed inside unusable and therefore requires expensive and time consuming replacement.
The invention protects any cards (that fit into its cavity) from damage or breakage, while using both sides of the product for the purpose of advertising, amusement, logos, badges, lists, instructions or any other information required by individual clients. Fig 5 shows the complete product externally.
The invention has been designed in such a way that it will hold any correct size card, whether it is embossed with writing (such as a credit card) or if it is of a complete, smooth surface. This is due to a unique dimple within the product cavity, which is used, to nip the card inserted and hence stops the product from failing out. Dimple shown in fig 1 and 3.
The product will be made from plastic, the method of manufacture will be the plastic injection moulding technique, where once from the mould the two halves of the product will be ultrasonically welded together. Two halves shown in fig 1 and 2.

  1. Claims
    The card protector is a case only big enough to carry one object the approximate size of a credit card, or any card which is small enough to fit inside the cavity.
    My invention relates to this product with a dimple manufactured inside the cavity to help maintain the stability and stop any accidental movement of the card inserted if the protector is moved violently or turned upside down.
