Braiding-machines.-In a braiding machine of the kind in which two series of bobbins are rotated in opposite directions, each inner yarn carrier 53 is driven round by a toothed driver 73 engaging the indented periphery of a roller 79 mounted on the carrier, the relatively long teeth of the driver 73 forming spaces 75 through which the outer yarn can pass to the braiding point. The drivers 73 and rollers 79 are preferably made of some non-abrasive material such as fibroid. As is usual the drivers 73 are carried by a rotating frame 67 and rotated by pinions 70 engaging a fixed rack 71, the peripheral speed of the drivers being equal to the speed of translation of the outer yarn carriers 85 which are carried by upwardly extending flange 27 of the main revolving frame.
