Abstract
The guitar maintains a fretted neck 12, but incorporates a piano keyboard 14 to agitate thirteen (or more) strings - the range of the instrument being increased by using the frets. The keys agitate the strings either using plectrums, tangents or a hammer type piano action. The highest string is tuned to middle C, and the rest descend an octave (each lowering a semi-tone from the last). However, the lowest string is tuned to two octaves below middle C to increase the low range of the instrument. The instrument combines ease of playing with a guitar's sound and portability.
