Abstract
The scooter has a frame with a front tube 1 coupled by a pivot joint 6 to a head tube 3 carrying curved handles 41. In use, the head tube 3 is locked upright by a quick-release ring 5, but for carrying, the ring 5 is released, enabling pivoting downwardly of the head tube 3 and hooking of one handle 41 under the frame rear at a rear castor 7.
Description
2361896 TITLE: RETRACTABLE STRUCTURE FOR A SKATING BOARD BIKE BACKGROUND
OF THE INVENTION
(a) Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a retractable structure for a skating board bike, and more particularly to one that retracts the head tube connecting to the handle and secures the head tube flat on the board for users to carry the skating board bike by the head tube.
(b) Description of the Prior Art:
Whereas a skating board of the prior art in the market relates to a caster is each pivoted to the front and the rear end of the frame, and a board is provided at the middle section of the frame. In use, with one foot stepping on the board and with the other foot pushing against the ground to give an inertia to the board to glide on. Then the user puts both feet on the board to move forward until the board is decelerate until approaching stop. Once again, the user has his either is foot to push against the ground to repeat forwarding. The skating board bike may be served as a walking means in addition to looking for fun or sporting. Furthermore, a handle is pivoted to the front tube of the frame and is linked to a head tube provided at the front castor to control the turning direction.
Both of ihe handle and the head tube consume a lot of space making the skating board bike difficult to store or carry. An improvement has been made, wherein, both of the handle and the head tub are pivoted to each other to make them foldable. However, the skating board bike remains difficult to carry since the folded handle and head tube are not secured in position. Thus, some accessories, such as a fastener and a magic tape are required to hold them in position. It causes the inconvenience of operation, and the accessories may be lost.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The primary purpose of the present invention is to provide a retractable structure allowing users easily carry the skating board bike by the head tube 4- which is folded up and secured in position at the rear section of the skating board bike. The structure features that both ends of the lateral lever of the handle are made in curve to hook up the rear caster of the frame when the head tube is retracted and staying flat on the board.
BRIEF DESCRIEPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Fig. I is -a schematic view showing the structure of the present invention.
Fig. 2 is a first schematic view showing the retraction process of the present invention.
Fig. 3 is a second schematic view showing the retraction process of the present invention.
Fig. 4 is a third schematic view showing the retraction process of the present invention.
Fig. 5 is a view showing the present invention as retracted.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODMENTS is As shown in Fig. 1, a retractable head tube (3) is pivoted to a front tube (1) of a frame and is linked to a front caster (2) of a skating board bike. A handle (4) is connected to the upper portion of the head tube (3). At where the head tube (3) is retracted, an curved expansion knuckle (6) (also refer to Fig. 2) is provided in conjunction with a fast disconnection device (5) is used to connect both of the head tube (3) and the front tube (1) to achieve the purpose of folding up and securing the head tube (3) in place.
Both ends of the lateral lever of the handle (4) are each made a curve part (41). The curve part (41) and the handle (4) form a C shape with the opening facing ahead of the skating board bike so to facilitate the turning controlled by the handle (4) which is linked to the front caster (2).
When the skating board bike is not in use and the head tube (3) is retracted lying flat on the board, the curve part (4 1) is used to hook to the rear of the frame for easy carrying and storage.
Referring to Fig. 2, firstly, the fast disconnection device (5) provided at where the head tube (3) is retracted is released for the user to pull out the curve knuckle (6). Then as illustrated in Fig. 3, the head tube (3) and the handle (4) linked to the front caster (2) turn to an inclination.
The curve knuckle (6) is used to retract the head tube (3) downward to such extent that each curve part (41) is at an inclined position in relation to a rear caster (7) of the frame as illustrated in Fig. 4.
Finally, the head tube (3) is laid flat on the frame with the curve part (4 1) at the lower end of -the handle (4) hooking onto the rear caster (7) of frame. Thus, the head tube (3) takes as a portable handle for the user to carry the skating board bike by holding the head tube (3).
The present invention by providing an innovative, practical and improved design permits that the skating board bike can be retracted and secured in position, and eliminates the requirement of an accessory to allow the user easily carry when the skating board bike is not used or is ready for storage.
Claims (1)
1 Claim:
A retractable structure for a skating board bike comprised of a retractable head tube pivoted to a front tube of the frame and linked to a front caster of the skating board bike, and a handle connected to the upper part of the head tube; wherein, both ends at a lateral lever of the handle are extended to form each a curve part so to hook onto the rear of the flame at a proper angle once the head tube is retracted to facilitate carrying the skating board bike by holding its head tube.
