Background art
The invention relates to a tool for a reciprocating tool machine, in particular a reciprocating saw, according to the preamble of claim 1.
According to DE 197 56 766 A1 a reciprocating saw, in particular a precision cutting saw, is known where the tool comprises an approximately rectangular saw blade, which at the side remote from the rectilinearly extending back has outwardly directed saw teeth arranged along a line. With said tool the reciprocating tool machine, in particular the reciprocating saw, is set up for sawing work. Accordingly, the application spectrum is narrow.
Advantages of the invention Compared to the background art, the present invention having the features of claim 1 has the advantage that the reciprocating tool machine, in particular the reciprocating saw, e.g. precision cutting saw, has a considerably broader application spectrum because it is now also possible to use, as an alternative to saw blades, tools according to the invention with the same reciprocating tool machine and therefore by means of the latter carry out a wide variety of sanding jobs.
Advantageous developments and improvements of the tool indicated in claim 1 are possible by virtue of the measures outlined in the further claims. The invention further relates to a reciprocating tool machine having the features of claim 11.
Drawings 2 There now follows a detailed description of embodiments of the invention with reference to the accompanying drawings. The drawings show:
Fig. 1 Fig. 2 Figs. 3 to 6 a diagrammatic perspective view of a reciprocating tool machine with inserted tool according to a first embodiment, a diagrammatic perspective view of part of the tool in Fig. 1, in each case a diagrammatic perspective view of part of a tool according to a second, third, fourth and fifth embodiment respectively.
Description of the embodiments
The reciprocating tool machine, a diagrammatic perspective view of which is shown in Fig. 1, takes the form of a reciprocating saw 10 and, as such, is an embodiment of a hand-held electric tool machine. The reciprocating saw 10 comprises an elongate machine housing 11, which is simultaneously fashioned as a handle part, and a head 12 and is provided in the transitional region between the machine housing 11 and the head 12 with a constriction 13 for improved handling.
The machine housing 11 in the customary manner contains a non-illustrated electric drive, which is capable of setting a blade-like tool 15, which is held by means of a clamping apparatus 14 against one side of the head 12, in reciprocating oscillating motion. In the region of the head 12 a non-illustrated gear is contained, which is in mesh with a rotor shaft of the drive motor and comprises a non-illustrated output shaft aligned at right angles to the 3 rotor shaft and via said output shaft drives a non-visible connecting rod mechanism for driving the tool 15.
The tool is is accommodated in a longitudinally 5 displaceable manner in a guide rail 16 and together with said guide rail 16 forms a separate, preferably nondetachable structural unit in the form of a tool cassette 17, which is clampable into the clamping apparatus 14 on the machine housing 11.
The guide rail 16 takes the form of a rectilinear part and comprises e.g. two guide limbs 18, 19, which are situated on either side of the tool 15 and which are integrally connected to one another by a folded edge 20 or are instead manufactured as two separate components and then connected to one another along said longitudinal edge. The bladeshaped tool 15 is held and guided so as to be longitudinally displaceable to a limited extent in the guide rail 16 in a customary manner, e.g. by means of two pin-and-slot joints which are arranged symmetrically relative to the longitudinal centre of the tool cassette 17. For clamping the tool cassette 17 into the clamping apparatus 14 of the reciprocating saw 10, clamping elements e.g. in the form of clips 21, 31 are formed on the guide rail 16. The clamping apparatus 14 operates in the usual manner on the principle of a ski binding. The clamping apparatus 14 comprises a journal (not shown further) which, as the tool cassette 17 is inserted, engages into an opening provided on either side of the guide rail 16. The connecting rod mechanism for driving the tool 15 comprises a non-visible driving finger, which engages through an oblong hole 23 provided on either side of the guide rail 16 into a recess 24 of the blade-shaped tool 15 to establish the drive connection.
The blade-shaped tool 15 has a rectilinearly extending back 25, with which the tool 15 is guided in the guide rail 16 4 during the reciprocating drive motion. The tool 15 has at least one work zone 40 used for machining workpieces, which is fashioned according to the invention in a particular manner and described in detail below. The tool 15 according to Figs. 1 and 2 has been inserted in exchange for a saw blade which is insertable into the clamping apparatus 14 of the reciprocating saw 10, with the result that the range of uses of the reciprocating saw 10 is widened. In particular, the tool 15 is characterized by an approximately blade-shaped, flexurally stiff carrier 41, which is made e. g. of metal but occasionally may alternatively be fashioned from plastics material. The carrier 41 in the f irst embodiment in Figs. 1 and 2 is approximately sword-like and is provided at both broad sides with a surface bonding means 42, 43, which at each broad side detachably holds an abrasive web 44, 45, which overlaps the surface bonding means 42, 43 and which at its outside forms the respective work zone 40. The bottom narrow side 46 of the carrier 41 remote from the back 25 is according to Fig. 2 provided with and overlapped by an underside abrasive web 47, wherein this is achieved by conveying the abrasive web 44 from the appropriate broad side of the carrier 41, round the bottom narrow side 46 to the other broad side, with simultaneous formation there of the abrasive web 45. In another, non-illustrated embodiment, a surface bonding means may be provided also in the region of the narrow surface 46. The respective surface bonding means 42, 43 takes the form of a Velcro(R.'-'.M.) strip fastening, of which one bonding part is fastened to the carrier 41 and the other bonding part to the abrasive web 44 or 45, as is known in principle. The respective abrasive web 44, 45 is formed from abrasive paper, abrasive cloth or similar abrasive fabric. By virtue of the described fashioning of the tool 15, which is formed by a blade-shaped, flexurally rigid carrier 41 provided with the surface bonding means 42, 43 used for detachable fastening of the abrasive webs 44, 45 to the carrier 41, the range of uses of the reciprocating saw 10 is considerably widened because now, instead of a saw blade, a described tool 15 fashioned in a wide variety of ways may be used and with the aid of said tool the reciprocating saw 10 may be used to carry out a wide variety of sanding jobs. The result is a considerably broadened application spectrum of the reciprocating saw 10. Because of the detachable fastening of the abrasive webs 44, 45 by the surface bonding means 42, 43 to the carrier 41, standard sanding means, such as rolls of coated abrasives or similar abrasive paper, abrasive cloth or the like, may be used to form the work zones 40. Given fashioning of the tool 15 according to the first embodiment, sanding may be carried out with one or the other broad side and, depending on the requirements of the user, also with the bottom edge region remote from the back 25 using the abrasive web 47 situated there.
In the second and third embodiments shown in Figs. 3 and 4 respectively, the carrier 41 is constructed as a section part 51 at the side lying opposite the back 25 andis provided in the second embodiment in Fig. 3 at the side of the section part 51 remote from the back 25 and in the third embodiment shown in Fig. 4 at the side of the section part 51 directed towards the back 25 with a surface bonding means 52, which corresponds to the section shape and which detachably holds a correspondingly extending abrasive web 53, which just like the surface bonding means 52 is adapted to the shape of the section part 51. In the second and third embodiments in Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 respectively, the section part 51 comprises an angle section having two limbs 54, 55, of which the limb 54 forms the sword-like part of the carrier 41. In Fig. 3 the surface bonding means 52 is provided at the outside of each limb 54, 55 remote from the back 25, as is the abrasive web 53 which therefore forms an angular work zone 40. The tool 15 thus fashioned is advantageously suitable for e.g. sanding rebates. In the case of the third embodiment in Fig. 4 the surface bonding 6 means 52 is provided in each case at the inside of each limb 54, 55 directed towards the back 25 and the abrasive web 53 is detachably held in an angular manner likewise on said inside. The tool 15 thus fashioned is advantageously suitable for sanding angular workpieces, the outer surfaces of which may be suitably machined.
In the fourth and fifth embodiments shown in Figs. 5 and 6 respectively, the section part 51 takes the form of a convexly curved edge section 56 (Fig. 5) and a concavely curved edge section 57 (Fig. 6) respectively. The edge section 56 is provided at the outside of the curve remote from the back 25 with a surface bonding means 58, by means of which an abrasive web 59 disposed at the outside of the curve is detachably held.
In the case of the embodiment in Fig. 6, the surface bonding means 58 is situated on the concavely curved edge section 57 likewise at the outside of the curve, which is remote from the back 25 and on which the abrasive web 59 is detachably held by means of the surface bonding means 58.
The tool 15 according to Fig. 5 is suitable for sanding channels, rounded grooves or similar longitudinally extending recesses, while the tool 15 according to Fig. 6 is advantageously suitable for sanding the exterior of rounded ribs, edges or the like.
In another non-illustrated embodiment, the section part 51 has a different shape. It takes the form of, for example, a V-shaped section or polygonal section, in the present case e.g. a square section, triangular section or the like.
The section part may instead take the form of a curved section, e.g. a circular section, arc-shaped section or similar round sections having convex and/or concave rounded portions. Thi's includes among other things, for example, an approximately saddle-shaped or wave-shaped or approximately W-shaped section.
