Abstract

A thermally insulated bag for cosmetics comprises a pouch or case with a zipped closure and walls containing an insulation layer of foamed material. The walls may have an outer layer of plastics, leather or cotton, and an inner lining of soft cotton, silk or nylon. A shoulder strap may be provided.

2359249 1 MAKE UP BAG The invention relates to a device that would be used

to hold cosmetic items in a manner that would protect all types of make up against the daniage caused by warm temperatures.

The concept is intended to provide women with a means whereby their cosmetic items can be stored and carried in such a way that the cosmetics would not be subject to the ill-effects of warm temperatures. For example, an item such as a lipstick can degrade if it is left on a dressing table close to a radiator that generates a strong flow of heat, or when carried in a conventional make up bag placed into a hand bag and carried outside during periods of hot weather. This latter application can be particularly common when visiting the beach, driving a car or engaged in other outdoor activities where one is likely to have a cosmetic bag along. Once the lipstick or other cosmetic item has been exposed to heat, it can lose its integrity, be difficult to apply correctly, or possibly even have to be discarded.

The object of this invention would remedy this problem. The devise would consist of a zippered pouch fabricated with a durable plastic outer covering and a soft cotton interior lining. The critical point of differentiation for this bag would be that between these two layers would be a layer of foam that would act as the material used in cool bags to keep the contents within a controlled temperature level. This, then, would protect the cosmetics against the potential damage that can be caused when such items are exposed to high temperatures. Thus the woman keeping her cosmetics in one of these bags would be assured that the make- up items would always be in peak condition for use whether the bag is kept on a dressing table at home, carried in a hand bag, stowed away in a beach bag or kept under other conditions where high temperatures could act to degrade the functional integrity of the cosmetics.

The bags would be finished in a variety of colours and would be imprinted with attractive designs such as flowers and stripes. The product could also be offered in different sizes ranging from as small as 10cm. by 3cm by 3cm. to as large as 60cm by 40cm, by 40cm. and with four to five gradations in between.

Figure one (page 2), shows the make up bag in its larger form with a solid outer casing more like a vanity case. Its materials and function would be the same as the other variations that would be of soft materials.

Claims (8)

1 A make up bag comprising of a zippered pouch fabricated with a durable plastic outer covering, a soft cotton interior lining and a layer of foamed material as used in cool bags.

2 A make up bag as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the foamed layer is placed within the inner and outer layer.

A make up bag as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2, wherein the inner foamed layer controls temperature level.

4 A make up bag as claimed in any preceding claim to hold all cosmetic items.

A make up bag as claimed in any preceding claim which is made in different sizes from 10m by 3cm by 3cm to 60 cm by 40cm by 40cm.

6 A make up bag as claimed in any preceding claim whereby the plastic outer covering would be impriffited with designs of flowers, stripes, patterns or plain.

7 A make up bag as claimed in any preceding claims a solid rather than plastic outer casing with shoulder strap.

8 A make up bag substantially as described herein with reference to figure 1 of the accompanying drawing.
