Abstract

A wall plug remover uses the wall that contains the wall plug as a Base for leverage. This is achieved by means of a hinged spindle, one end containing a tapered thread 1 and the other a fulcrum 3 for levering against and a handle 2.

2359039 This invention relates to a wall plug remover.
Wall plugs. by necessity. expand into the sides of the hole within which they are inserted, to hold secure, screws or other fixings. In most cases this expansion. caused by the twisting motion of the screw and its tapering shape, forces the top edge of the wall plug out of the hole and this edge is normally found to be proud of the wall when the fixing is removed. This makes filling of the hole difficult when decorating and/or applying a thin covering layer of plaster. The wall plugs are very difficult to remove when expanded and quite often the use of pliers and other tools causes damage to the walls.
According to the present invention there is provided a wall plug remover comprising a tapered thread fixed to a hinged spindle, the upper part of which is used as a handle and incorperates a fulcrum which allows the handle to be used as a lever to pull the tapered thread, which has been screwed into the wall plug. out of the wall.

Claims (7)

CLAIMS.
1. A wall plug remover comprising a tapered thread fixed to a hinged Spindle, the upper part of which is used as a handle and Incorperates a fulcrum which allows the handle to be used as a Lever to pull the tapered thread, which has been screwed into the Wall plug, out of the wall.
2. A wall plug remover as claimed in claim 1, where the handle is grooved to provide maximum grip.
3. A wall plug remover as claimed in clairn 1 and claim 2 where the Fulcrum is of the length required for maximum leverage.
4. A wall plug remover as claimed in all previous claims, where the Handle is hinged to allow movement in two directions.
5. A Wall plug remover as claimed in all previous claims where there Fulcrums are positioned on both sides of the handle.
6. A wall plug remover as claimed in all previous claims where the Wall plug is pulled vertically by means of leverage on the fulcrum, to minimise damage to the wall.

7. A wall plug remover as in all previous claims where a gap is Placed between the fixed tlanges to allow movement beyond 90 degrees to the base.
