Abstract

The support comprises a circular disc 1 and a tube 2 joined to the disc. The tube is eccentrically arranged so that in use a stick placed in tube 2 can support a plant away from the center of a pot into which the device has been placed.

Description

1 STICK SUPPORT The invention relates to an object which will give support
to a stick which is put into the compost in a house or garden plant pot to support the plant.
Modem common plant composts are soilless and do not maintain their "grip" on sticks or canes put in to give a strong support to a growing plant. These composts are too loose when compared with soil, but are widely used due to the benefits they give in other ways.
Accordingly, this invention provides additional support to a stick in a plant pot, or other container, so that the stick remains stable at all times, but especially in adverse weather conditions.
The invention consists of a flat circular disc with a tube connected at right angles to it, joined eccentrically, into which will be placed a plant stick. The disc is placed horizontally, inside, near the base of the pot with the tube verticaLThe weight of the compost and/or the plant on the flat disc gives firm support to the vertical tube and thence to the stick within the tube.
Preferably, this invention is of a one piece construction made of a plastic material similar to the material of which plant pots themselves are made. Hence the object of this invention will be as durable as the plant pots and can be reused many times.
It is expected that the dimensions of the object will be made commensurate with the plant pot or other container for which it is made.

Claims (1)

  1. STICK SUPPORT An object comprising a disc and a tube joined eccentrically together, placed in a plant pot, uses the combined weight of the compost and plant to give stability to the tube and to a stick placed within the tube.
