Abstract

A cutting board 1 with an integrated facility 2 for collecting waste material. The waste collection container 2 may be fitted with a plastic or biodegradable bag 3, which can be used along with the waste for composting. The bag is secured in position with a clamp 5. Alternatively the container can be used without a secondary containment bag, filled directly and emptied into a domestic waste bin. The container is secured to the board by means of a securing bracket 4. Waste material is brushed into the waste container using the hand or kitchen knife.

Description

2355920 TIDY BOARD This invention relates to a tidy cutting board Cutting
boards are used extensively in the kitchen and general food preparation areas and generally comprise a board of wood, plastic or some other hardweaning material No provision is made in the design for collecting and disposing of the waste cuttings.
This waste material is usually collected in the hand and transported to a waste bin or some other collection container.
The present invention is an integrated cutting board and collection container incorporating a bag for easy disposal.
The bag is made either from plastic material, or a biodegradable material.
In the case of the biodegradable bag, this can be disposed of, together with its contents to a waste bin or to a compost heap and is therefore recyclable.
The invention comprises a cutting board and waste collection container. This is attached to the board with a mounting bracket as shown in drawing 1/1 item 4.
A collection bag, which fits inside the collection container, is secured by means of a securing clamp, which fits over the rim of the collection container.
The container is of sufficient width drawing 1/ 2 to catch the waste material, which is "brushed" to the edge of the board either by hand or kitchen knife.

  1. z CLAIMS
    I A tidy board incorporating a means of collecting waste material for later disposal.
  2. 2 A tidy board as claimed in claim I wherein the waste material is collected in a bag which is manufactured from a biodegradable material which can be utilised along with the waste material for composting at a later date.
  3. 3 A tidy board as claimed in claims I or claim 2 wherein the disposal bag is held in place with a clamp which fits tightly over the waste container.
