Abstract

A security container which may have wheels or be mounted on a trolley is made wholly or in part of transparent, semi-transparent or semi-opaque material to allow visual inspection and identification of the contents.

DESCRIPTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a cart/container which may be constructed as one compartment or as a series of smaller interlocking containers, and is mounted on a trolley or cart of the type that is commonly used in airports. This container/cart may be of a set size and shape. It may be created in varying sizes and of design, or designs, to be most advantageous for the purpose of holding baggage of varying types securely. The contained effects are secured through a locking mechanism. The container is sturdy and wholly, or in part, composed of a material which is transparent, serni-transparent, semi-opaque. This would be helpful in identffying the contents of the container and establishing ownership.

The trolley container may have incorporated into it's design one or more of thefollowing devices; a) any common device which is presently incorporated in an airport cart/container, whether manual or electronic.

b) a tamper proof device containing ownership information. This could be placed inside the container but be visible from the exterior.

c) a secure locking mechanism which allows the container to be removed from the cart/container.

The last two items; b) and c), may be used if the container, containing the traveler's inspected baggage, becomes a shipping container.

The nature and characteristic features of the invention will be more readily understood from the following correlative descriptions of the accompanying drawings in which:

FIG 1 is a view of a commonly known cart/container. The same as those commonly used at airports or train stations for the purpose of transporting goods and luggage.

FIG 2 is a side view of the container, the main embodiment of the invention, which is, wholly or in part, whether by design or by composite materials, transparent, semi-transparent or semi-opaque to a degree which enables the visual inspection and identification of the contents. This container may be an integral part of a cart/container or may, for the purposes of transporting goods, be removable from a cart/trolley and utilized as a shipping container.

FIG 3 is a side view of the container as it is utilised in conjunction with a commonly known cart/trolley.

Claims (6)

1. A container used primarily in a station at a port of departure which wholly or in part, whether by design or by composite materials, is transparent, senii-transparent or semi-opaque to a degree which enables the visual inspection and identification of the contents.

2. With regard to Claim 1. the container which is fitted with a locking mechanism

3. With regard to Claim 2. a movable container having integral castors or wheels or mountable upon a trolley/cart.

4. With regard to Claim 3. a container for the purpose of securely transporting effects.

5. With regard to any previous Clain-4 a container holding material intended to be transported may be designed to be utilized as a removable shipping container.

6. A container/cart subatantially as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
