Abstract
Apparatus for measuring the angle of contact between a drop of liquid (16) and the surface of a specimen (16) has a light source (10) in the form of a high intensity LED which projects light on to the drop (16) and identifying means in the form of a monocular (8) for observing the light reflected from the drop (16). The monocular (8) establishes a position to which no light is reflected in terms of the angle of inclination of the optical axis of the monocular with respect to the vertical.
