Abstract

A foldable storage enclosure comprises a lid 1 and two sides 2, with a canvas front 4, the whole being fixed to a wall, fence or other structure to form a "box". The sides 2 and lid 1 can be folded flat against the wall when not in use. A beam across the inside of the canvas front is used to tension it: a fixing arrangement 5, 7 fastens its edges.

Description

2354017 Fixed Position Foldable Shelter This invention relates to a fixed
position foldable shelter.
Shelters are well known as accomodation units for uses like storage of materials, property, animals, etc. They are usually in the form of a wood or metal structure with a door or entrance aperture. They are relatively expensive and being of a solid construction cannot easily be moved when not in use.
According to the present invention there is provided a shelter in the form of a box,, fixed by hinges to a background structure, means to form a rigid enclosure, and means for releasably demounting and folding flat to it's fixed position on the background structure.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by the way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which Fig 1. Shows in perspective, the shelter erected in position on it's background structure. Fig 2. Illustrates the shelter in a fully open position. Fig 3. Illustrates the shelter in folded position on the background structure.
2 Referring to the drawing the shelter consisting of an upper lid-1. Two side doors 2. of a wood or metal material with anchor points 7. attached by hinges 3. to a wall fence or structure this forming the rear of the closure.
The front of the shelter 4. Being of a canvas of flexible material attached to the outer edge of the lid 1. and extending therefore to the ground.
The canvas is held removably by latches 5. to the outer edges of the side door 2.
A small beam (wood or metal) _6. is fixed internally to the lower inside edge of the canvas.
A drop bolt 8. on the inside of each door could serve as an alternate to the beam.

Claims (7)

  1. A fixed position foldable shelter comprising two side doors and an upper lid from which hangs a canvas front therebye forming a box. The doors and lid fixed to a background structure.

    A fixed position foldable shelter as claimed in claim 1. Wherein means are provided to allow the doors and lid to fold flat.
  3. 3. A fixed position foldable shelter as claimed in claim 1. or claim 2. Wherein the doors are fixed moveably to the background structure.
    4. A fixed position foldable shelter as claimed in claim 2. or claim 3. Wherein catchment means are provided to adapt the canvas front to the side doors.

    A fixed position foldable shelter as claimed in any preceding claim. Wherein the shelter is provided with at least one hinged lid.

    Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows CLAIMS 1. A fixed position foldable shelter comprising two side doors and an upper lid from which hangs a canvas front thereby forming a box, the doors and lid being fixed to a background structure.
    2. A fixed position foldable shelter as claimed in claim I wherein means are provided to allow the doors and lid to fold flat against the background structure.
    3. A fixed position foldable shelter as claimed in claim I or claim 2 wherein the doors are fixed hingedly to the background structure.
    4. A fixed position foldable shelter as claimed in claim 2 or claim 3 wherein catchment means are provided to adapt the canvas front to the side doors.
    5. A fixed position foldable shelter as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the shelter is provided with at least one hinged lid.
    6. A fixed position foldable shelter as claimed in claim 5 wherein the or each side door is provided with an anchor point for anchoring the canvas.
