Abstract

A wheel Fig 1 that is friction free from its axle and driven by means of using magnetic levitation technology. The circle row of magnets 1 is the axle to the outer part of the wheel 3. The motor (magnets) creating both the friction free zone levitation and the propelling force for the outer part of the wheel 3.

Description

2353903 FRICTIONLESS VnffiEL/MOTOR This invention relates to a friction
ftee wheel and drive motor.
This invention is a new development of the basic existing technology as used on Magnetic Levitation railway lines.
Magnetic levitation transportation in the main is restricted to a train (with no wheels) on a track way.
According to the present invention there is provided a frictionless drive wheel, comprising of a magnetic levitation motor in the centre of the wheel. The motor or driving force being the same as in a conventional magnetic levitation system (as used in a linear manner on trains) apart from curving around on its self and joining to form a circle and the axle for this wheel. The motor (magnets) providing both the ffiction free area and the movement impetus for the outer part of the wheel. The wheel and motor are not physically connected when in use thus giving a ffictionless axle.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: - Figure 1 shows a side cross section view of the wheel in basic form whilst in operation.
Figure 2 shows an end cross section view of the wheel in basic form whilst in operation.
Referring to the drawing the wheel comprises of a row magnets 1 around the centre point. The magnets provide both the friction free zone 2 and the drive of the outer part of the wheel 3.
The wheel initially is based on the known existing technology of magnetic levitation. The linear row of magnets is taken and curved around on its self and joined to form a continuos circle 1. The circle of magnets forms the axle of the wheel and the drive motor giving both the magnetic levitation 2 and the impetus of the outer part of the wheel 3.

Claims (1)

  1. I A frictionless drive wheel, comprising of a magnetic levitation motor in the centre of the wheel. The motor or driving force being the same as in a conventional magnetic levitation system (as used in a linear manner on trains) apart from curving around on its self andjoining to form a circle and the axle for this wheel. The motor (magnets) providing both the friction frep area a ' nd the movement impetus for the outer part of the wheel. The wheel and motor are not physically connected when in use thus giving a frictionless axle.
A frictionless wheel as claimed in claim I with out the requirement for the propelling aspect of the motor.
