Abstract

An Iso-type storage container (8) which can be rolled on and off a flatbed trailer (6, Fig 2) or similar, via a scissors lift (7), or any similar device that can provide a level surface at the same level as the flatbed trailer, and be moved and parked by means of a tractor or similar. The mobile storage container is fined with adjustable legs (5), which are used for both stabilising it when loading or in a parked position, and for securely fixing it in place to the flatbed trailer during transportation. The container also has a wheeled chassis (1), adjustable towing hook 4 at one or both ends and one or more doors 3 at an end(s) or side(s).

Description

2352711 Mobile Storne Container The invention relates to a mobile storage
container Containers are used extensively to transport goods around the world. Allowing the movement of these goods to be accomplished without the need for them to be touched or disturbed, from when they leave the sender to when they reach their destination. The containers are all of a universal size shape and form, their fixing-Is and lifting points are all configured to fit the modes of transport that can be used. The existing containers and their contents are very heavy, requiring special cranes and equipment to lift and move them at both ends of theirjourney.
According to the present invention there is provided a container, with a door or doors at one end, of a size and proportion that will fit on to a flatbed road trailer or railway truck, set on a wheeled chassis, which has an adjustable toeing hook at one end. Means of securing the container to any form of transportation and adjustable legs to stabilise the container when parked or loading.
Figure I shows in perspective the mobile storage container, Figure 2 shows in perspective the mobile storage container on the trailer of an articulated lorry with a scissors lift in its highest position.
Figure 3 shows in perspective the mobile storage container moved from the trailer onto the scissors lift.
Figure 4 shows in perspective the mobile storage container on the ground and the scissors lift at its lowest position.
Referring to the drawing figure 1. The mobile storage container compriges of a wheeled chassis (1) with the container (2) fixed securely to it. The container shown has doors (3)) in one end and an adjustable toeing hook (4) at one end and adjustable legs (5) to provide the means of providing stability in transit and for loading and parking. The legs (5) will also provide the means of securing the mobile storage container to the flatbed trailer.

  1. Claims
    I A mobile storage container, with a door or doors at one end, of a size and proportion that will fit on to a flatbed road trailer or railway truck, set on a wheeled chassis, which has an adjustable toeing hook at one end. Means of securing the container to any form of transportation and adjustable legs to stabilise the container when parked or loading.
  2. 2 A mobile storaae container as claimed in claiml, but with a toeincr hook at both ends.
  3. A mobile storage container as claimed in claims I and 2, but with a door or doors at both ends.
  4. 4 A mobile storage container, with a door or doors ia one side, of a size and proportion that will fit on to a flatbed road trailer or railway truck, set on a wheeled chassis, which has an adjustable toeing hook at one end. Means of securing the container to any form of transportation and adjustable legs to stabilise the container when parked or loading.
  5. A mobile storage container as claimed in claim 4, but with a toeing hook at both ends.
  6. 6 A mobile storacre container as claimed in claim 4 and 5, but with a door or doors in both sides.
  7. 7 A mobile storaue container as herein described and illustrated in the C accompanying drawings, Figures 1-4.
