Abstract

A plant pot holder comprises a lightweight plastic box section 4 mounted to a surface, the section having slots (5, Fig 2) into which pre-formed wings at the ends of split spring steel rings 2 are fitted. The rings support flower pots.

Description

2351225 MULTI-PURPOSE PLANT POT HOLDER This invention relates to a
multi-purpose plant pot holder.
Plant pot holders are generally designed as a decorative stand, not necessarily with economy of space in mind. Gardeners in general, work in the relatively confined space of a greenhouse. This invention is designed with both economy of space, and versatility in mind.
According to the present invention there is provided a lightweight plant pot holder, with means for securing it to either a wall, fence panel or hanging bracket.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:- Figure 1 shows an general assembly with plant pots in position Figure 2 shows the plastic box section with an enlarged view of its top section Figure 3 shows the spring steel split rings with formed wings Figure 4 shows the spring steel split rings in position Referring to the drawings the multi-purpose plant pot holder comprises a lightweight plastic box section of varying lengths 4, with milled slots 5 at varying intervals, and a top fixing point 1. Spring steel split rings 2 & 3 of varying diameters, with formed wings.
The spring steel split rings 2 & 3 are inserted into the slots 5 by exerting sufficient pressure as to close the spring steel split ring 2 or 3 enough that the formed wings can pass through the slot, at which point the pressure can he released, the formed wings will then open back, exerting tension within the slot 5, thus holding it in place. When all of the required spring steel split rings 2 & 3 are in position, the assembly is then ready to be placed in its chosen location.

Claims (4)

  1. 2 CLAIMS
    I.The multi-purpose plant pot holder comprising a lightweight plastic box section of varying lengths, into the sides of which, milled slots and a top fixing point have been cut. Inter-changeable spring steel split rings of varying diameters, and having pre-formed wings, are then inserted into the slots by exerting sufficient pressure to close the wings until they pass through the slots, at which point the pressure is released. The spring steel split rings will now retain sufficient tension as to hold them in place.
  2. 2 The multi-purpose plant pot holder as claimed in claim 1 where the lightweight plastic box section of varying length, with milled slots and a top fixing point is provided.
  3. 3. The multi-purpose plant pot holder as claimed in claim 1 where the interchangeable spring steel split rings of various diameter are provided.
  4. 4. The multi-purpose plant pot holder substantially as described herein with reference to Figures 1-4 of the accompanying drawings.

    Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows 1. A multi-purpose plant pot holder comprising a lightweight plastic box section, into the sides of which milled slots and a top fixing point have been cut, and a plurality of steel split rings having pre-formed wings adapted to engage the slots, wherein the rings may be inserted into the slots by exerting sufficient pressure on them to close the wings until they pass through the slots and may then be retained in the slots by releasing the pressure thus opening the wings.
    2. The multi-purpose plant pot holder as claimed in claim 1 where the lightweight plastic box section of varying length, with milled slots and a top fixing point is provided.
    3. The multi-purpose plant pot holder as claimed in claim 1 where the interchangeable spring steel split rings of various diameter are provided.
