Abstract
ABSTRACT
A potted PLANT HOLDER for supporting pots onto Vertical surfaces. The pot holder is adjustable to a variety of pot circumferences by means of a flexible circular portion. The Pot Holder includes a adjustable clip allowing for attachment onto differing dimensions of vertical railings. The Pot Holder consists of a unitary piece of flexible material forming said adjustable circular, further a right angle forming a perpendicular length allowing said clip to be engaged on varying demensions of railings. The clip employs a thumb screw threaded to allow for adjustable clamping on varying sizes of railings.

Description
~260447 This invention pertains to planters, in particular to single plant pots that are held onto vertical rails, fences, or walls.
Plants in pots are displayed in a wide variety of ways. from fixed hangers from the ceiling, shelves and boxes.
However, aside from welded rings, there exist no devise, which allows the display of potted plants from vertical railings.
There is an ever growing amount of balcony railings, hand railings and there is a wide variety of decorat;ve railings both inside and out, and a lack of a devise to display plants to these.
This invention seeks to overcome this lack by having the ability to fix potted plants of a wide variety of pot s~s onto railings of various dimensions. While having these features, the invention has the advantage of being portable, easy to relocate, does not mark or damage railings, as well as using the minimun amount of material.
The invention can be constructed of flexible metal bar, bended into the proper configuration or can be moulded in plastic, both materials preform the function well.
A channel shaped clip with a threaded hole accomadates a thumb screw, which allows for easy adjustment to differing deminsions of railings.
Reference will now be made to the accompanying drawings where in a preferred embodiment of the invention is described by way of example.
In the drawings.
Fig I is a side elevation oflthe pot holder.
FigII is a top elevation of the pot holder.
Fig III iS a perspective drawing of the pot holder attached to a vertical railing by means of a thumb screw in a channel shaped clip.
Fig IY is a perspective drawing of the channel shaped clip with the adjustable thumb screw threaded into said clip.
Referring to Fig I the pot holder 10 comprised of a unitary piece of metal bar bent to a circular shaped to accomadate potted plants. The end of the circular bend 11, by way of bending inward or outward is easily adjustable to different pot circumferences. The pot holder 10 consists further of a 90 degree bend 13, with a right angle to form a perpendicular length 12, which allows a supportive surface to accomadate the attachment to railing or other vertical surfaces. Further the circular loop 14 at the bottom of perpendicular surface 12 allows protection from disturbances of the mounted clip 20 and thumb screw 21. *
i260447 F~g 2. shows a top view with pot holder 10 having cfrcular shape bending 11 to dllow for ad~ustment to pot circumferences.
This flexible ad~ustment can be accomplfshed by either flex~ble metal or moulded plastic.
The pot holder has a number of advantages in that it is portable and very easily moved from one railing to another of different size. Fig 4. shows the three sfded channel 21 with thumb screw 20. Fig 3. shows the pot holder 10 attached to railing 16 by means of channel clip 20. Placing rear facing perpendicular surface 12 of pot holder 10 to vertical railing 16 and placfng clip 21 so as the outer flanges of clip 20 encompasses both railing 16 and surface, 12 the thumb screw, 20 fs tighten to hold the pot holder securely.
Once pot holder 10 fs mounted a potted plant can be inserted in the cfrcular portfon, and by means of movfng end of circular 11, the adjustment to proper fit can quickly be accomplished the invention does not seek to lfmit itself to vertical railfngs, as mounting on walls or fences can be accomplished by the drilling '~o~ two holes in surface 12 to accomadate two screws. The pot~F~lder can ~secured to a wide variety of surfaces.
