Abstract

This trolley will be made from a strong, lightweight material - 4- it is of an oblong shape, designed to be pushed down the aisle of an Aircraft. The top of the trolley will have two inserts, 1 and 2, one for a cutlery box to be inserted -1- and the other larger insert - 2- for a rubbish bag to be inserted. The bottom section -5- will have runners to hold trays from the services- there will be a strong lightweight sheet- 7- that will cover the top of the trolley -4- there will be a strong lightweight divider - 8- it will run on four strong lightweight wheels - 6- it will have two swivel handles - 3 - at each end.

DESCRIPTION

The main features of this trolley are as follows:The trolley will be made of a strong lightweight material- 4- and will run on four. strong lightweight wheels - 6- one placed on each comer. On top of the trolley there will be two inserts -I & 2- the smaller insert -I - will be to hold a removeable cutlery box. The larger insert- 2- will be used to hold a strong rubbish bag. The top will be covered with a strong lightweight sheet - 7- of the same material as the trolley - 4-. The bottom will be partioned across -8- with a strong lightweight material, the spaces below the inserts on the top - 1 &2- will have runners- 5- of the same material as the body- 4- at each end of the trolley will be two swivel handles - 3.

Claims

CLAIMS.

The service trolley will be made from a strong lightweight material -4- as it will be much lighter than the existing trolleys, it will be much easier to handle when staff are either serving food or clearing up after the food service. Staff will save time and energy by being able to, A; serve meals more smoothly, and B; clear away the debris from the previous service more quickly and hygenically, and with little effort place the empty trays into the runners-5- underneath, provided at either end of the trolley- both ends can be used at the same time. thus making the job faster and cleaner. The smaller insert - 1 - in the top of the trolley will have a strong lightweight lift out cutlery box inserted into it, this will enable cutlery that can be reused to be packed seperately or make it easier for other cutlery to be collected to be disposed of. The larger insert -2- in the top of the trolley will have a large strong rubbish bag placed inside, and all the debris can be cleared more quickly and cleanly than at present. The two spaces at the bottom part of the trolley will be partioned off -8- by a strong lightweight material - the spaces at either end will have runners -5- which will hold the trays when they are full for the food service,, and also they will hold more trays when clearing away from the food service. The top of the trolley will be covered with a sheet of strong lightweight material -7- when the cutlery insert- I- and the rubbish insert- 2- are not required- thus making a flat surface on top for any other objects to be carried. At either end of the trolley, there will be two swivel handles -3- this will enable staff to move the trolley more easily.

Lt The whole trolley will run on four strong lightweight wheels -6placed at each comer. The overall benefit of the plane service trolley (P.S.T.) will be to make life much easier for staff, because as the trolley will be much lighter than the present ones, and it will enable the staff to serve and clear with less physical effort. It will also make the collecting of the debris Erom the food service much smoother, quicker and more hygenic leaving no rubbish trailing or left on the floor, the refuse will have been sorted out as they go along the aisle, and not have to waste time sorting out the debris when they return to the galley's - all that they will have to do, on arrival back to the galley, is to remove and tie up the rubbish bag and stack the cutlery boxes.
