Description

Description: Title The ability to use electronic keyboards/pads in light deficient environments Current Situation: Currently portable electronic devices, which have some from of keyboard/key pad, used for inputting information and a screen for displaying information E. g.
Laptops, Notebooks.
PCs, Palmtops.
Hand-held computers that close like laptops And handheld electronic computers/derices are unable to be used in areas where natural or artificial light is at a premium or nonexistent as the light from the screen is inadequate to allow the user to see the keys and hence the characters on the keyboard or keypad.
Invention This invention allows the use of equipment that uses am power supply be it battery operated or ran from the electrical supply which uses a ke board/pad be it numeric and/or alphabetic and/or punctuational and/or am other type To be used in areas where natural light or artificial light is at a premium or non existent.
The manner in which this is done is outlined in the next : Details To make keys and characters on the keypad/board from contrasting transparent materials The keys and characters are light up by LEDs from undemeath the keys and both the key and characters can be seen.
NOTE : The key and character must have contrasting transparent materials.
This invention would be applicable to devices such as but is not limited : -Laptops -PCs -Palm tops -Hand held devises that close like the above devices.
-Hand held computers The keys can be made in the following w ay : The key itself is made from a specific coloured or clear transparent material with the actual alphabetic. numeric or punctuation characters) to be made from another different coloured transparent material.
This invention will allow the use of the above named devises in light deficient areas more effectively.
In cases where there are multiple characters on a single key then each character can be made from the same or different coloured transparent material The LEDs can be the same or different colours.
The power for the LED is derived from the pov-er unit that supplies the device.
In reference to Diagram 1.
Detailed example : In the below examples (diagram I) the key which is the white area is made from a transparent material and the character (s) on the key is/are made from a different/contrasting transparent material. NOTE the transparent material for the characters) can be made from the same or different coloured transparent material.
\en illuminated by the LED-which is underneatl the transparent key (NOT SHOWN in diagram 1) nill show the character. The LED is not shown as each device wil) have its own optimum placing for the LED on a per device basis.

Claims (1)

  1. Claims This invention of using transparent keys and characters but made from different coloured transparent materials on a kespad/kestoard and lighting up each key with a LED from underneath will wallon té use of Laptops, Notebooks.
    Palm-tops.
    PCs.
Hand-held computers that close like laptops and Hand-held electronic devices/computers in light deficient areas more effectivel-as described in the description section.
